Miami hasn't torn up the league this year, but it's seemingly taking out all frustrations on Toronto close the season — especially Jake Burger.

The Miami Marlins will look to finish off the series sweep against the Toronto Blue Jays this afternoon as both clubs wrap up their 2024 season.

Miami’s offense has been on fire this weekend with 23 runs through the first two meetings. I’ll be looking for slugger Jake Burger to cash in another RBI against a vulnerable Toronto bullpen in my Marlins vs Blue Jays predictions MLB picks for Sunday, September 29.

Marlins vs Blue Jays prediction

My best bet
Jake Burger Over 0.5 RBI (+128 at PROLINE+)

My analysis
Offense hasn’t been the M.O. this season for the Miami Marlins as they rank third last in runs per game (3.94), but the bats have come alive over the last three outings — scoring 31 runs.

Jake Burger leads the Marlins with 76 RBI and he's been a big contributor to his club’s offensive surge. The third baseman has collected seven RBI in his last four outings, including two in the series opener.

The Toronto Blue Jays haven't named a starter by Sunday morning, suggesting we could see a bullpen game. That would be good news for Burger and the Marlins, as the Blue Jays own the second-worst bullpen ERA in baseball (4.87).

Toronto's bullpen has been roughed up in this series, giving up nine runs on Friday and five more last night.

Blue Jays star player prop

My best bet
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 hits (+175 at PROLINE+)

My analysis
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went oh-fer in Toronto’s 8-1 defeat on Saturday, but the Blue Jays slugger still needs just one hit to reach 200 for the first time in his MLB career.

Vladdy will have a good chance at reaching the mark against Marlins southpaw Ryan Weathers. Right-handed batters like Guerrero Jr. have had success against Weathers this season with a .247/.309/.433 slash line compared to .226/.314/.290 for lefties.

Guerrero Jr. has recorded multiple hits in two of his last three games and four of his last seven.
