For the third year in a row, the Bass Pro Shops Night Race is being held in September after traditionally running in late August dating back to 1976. Denny Hamlin, who sits second in the latest 2022 NASCAR Cup Series odds update, is favored to win at Bristol on Saturday night.

Christopher Bell is the current leader in the NASCAR Cup Series standings with William Byron in second, just a point ahead of Hamlin. Can Bubba Wallace surprise again after claiming the checkered flag at the Hollywood Casino 400 last weekend?

Of active drivers, Kyle Busch has seen the most success in this race, winning three different times. He'll look to become the fourth driver to ever win the event four times.

Here are the early odds to win the 2022 Bass Pro Shops Night Race. Be sure to also check out our Bass Pro Shops Night Race picks for a full race analysis!

Bass Pro Shops Night Race pre-race favorites

Denny Hamlin (+650)

Hamlin went into the Hollywood Casino 400 as the betting favorite alongside Kyle Busch and wound up finishing second to Bubba Wallace. Hamlin has two wins to his name this year en route to his spot in third place in the standings. Though he hasn't won since the Coca-Cola 600 on May 29, he has finished second in back-to-back races.

Hamlin has won this event twice (2012, 2019) and has had four more podium finishes during his career here. He's been steady for most of 2022 with only a couple of blips along the way.

Chase Elliott (+750)

Elliott currently sits seventh in the NASCAR Cup Series standings. While he has four wins this season, he's been uneven and hasn't finished better than 11th in the last three events.

He's second on the odds board but also hasn't won at Bristol before. His best showing at the Bass Pro Shops Night Race was a third-place finish in 2018. He finished 25th in last year's race.

Kyle Larson (+750)

Like Elliott, Larson hasn't consistently been a force on the Cup Series calendar this year. He cruised to the Cup Series title a year ago but only has two wins in 2022. At this point a year ago, he had already won five times.

Bristol may have started a turning point for him, though, as he won the race for the first time.

How to bet on NASCAR

The most popular way to bet on NASCAR is by simply picking the winner of a race, which is also referred to as an outright. There are plenty of other ways to wager, including betting on whether or not a driver will finish in the Top 3 or Top 10 of a race.

Another popular betting option is head-to-head matchup betting, where sportsbooks pair up two drivers and you choose who you think will finish better in the race, which is far easier than trying to select someone to win out of a field of approximately 40 drivers.
