Kyle Larson Odds: NASCAR Driver Attempts Historic Double at Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600

Kyle Larson is leading the NASCAR Cup Series points standings, and he's adding another challenge to his plate in 2024 by attempting to complete both the Indy 500 and Coke 600 on the same day. Can Larson pull off "the double?"

Kyle Larson is looking to etch his name into the auto racing history books on Sunday when he attempts to become just the second driver to pull off "double duty" and finish both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 in the same day.

FanDuel is offering various prop bets on Larson ahead of his highly-anticipated Memorial Day weekend of racing, and we're taking a look at the most interesting Kyle Larson odds on the board.

Kyle Larson odds to win Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600

Market FanDuel
Larson to win both races +3,500

Kyle Larson should be considered a long shot to even complete both the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600, let alone with both races on Sunday.

Tony Stewart is the only driver to ever run all 1,100 miles of the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on the same day, accomplishing the feat in 2001. Remarkably, he placed sixth in his second and final Indy 500 start (ninth in 1999 but not on the lead lap) before finishing third in the Coke 600.

Previous attempts by other drivers have not been as successful. John Andretti was the first to try it in 1994, running 10th (four laps down) in the Indy 500 before DNF'ing in the Coca-Cola 600. After Davy Jones ran 23rd in the 1995 Indy 500 before failing to qualify for the Coke 600, Robby Gordon tried to pull off the double five times between 1997 and 2004. The closest he came to doing so was 2002, when he finished on the lead lap in eighth in the Indianapolis 500 before running one lap down in 16th in the Coke 600.

Kurt Busch was the last NASCAR Cup Series driver to try "the double," and he wrecked on lap 271 in the 2014 Coca-Cola 600 following a respectable sixth-place finish in the Indy 500.

Other Kyle Larson odds

Market FanDuel
Larson to win Indy 500 +650
Larson to win Coca-Cola 600 +450
Larson to win either Indy 500 or Coca-Cola 600 +210
Larson to finish Top 3 in both races +600
Larson to finish Top 3 in Indy 500, win Coca-Cola 600 +1,500
Larson to win Indy 500, finish Top 3 in Coca-Cola 600 +1,600

Kyle Larson is one of the favorites to win the Indianapolis 500 despite his amateur status in the IndyCar series, checking in behind only pole sitter Scott McLaughlin (+450) and defending champion Josef Newgarden (+550) at FanDuel. It's not all hype though, as Larson qualified fifth in the No. 17 Hendrickcars.com Chevrolet for Team Arrow McLaren.

Larson is also not a "one-trick pony" as he boasts wins in the Knoxville Nationals — considered the world’s biggest sprint car race — and the Chili Bowl, the year's biggest event for midget cars. However, Indy 500 bettors might want to wait and see how the weather will impact the race. Larson could abandon his ride in the Indy 500 in favor of preserving his place in the NASCAR points standings.

Larson sits as the pre-qualifying favorite to win the Coca-Cola 600 at +450, just ahead of Denny Hamlin (+600). He owns just one win in 14 points-paying NASCAR Cup Series races at Charlotte but he dominated the field in the 2021 Coke 600, winning both stages and leading 327 of 400 laps. He's also won the All-Star race twice on this course, and he already has two wins on 1 1/2-mile ovals on his resume in 2024 (Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Kansas Motor Speedway).

While I don't feel great about betting Larson at less than +1,000 as a novice in the Indy 500, I could see Larson taking his second career Coca-Cola 600. I've seen shorter odds on multiple Sundays for Larson to win this season, and a solid qualifying run would likely knock that +450 price down. Let's lock in it now.

Best bet: Larson to win Coca-Cola 600 (+450 at FanDuel)
