Clippers vs Warriors picks and predictions

Our side and total predictions are based upon our analysis of the line and total in this game. Our best bet is our favorite pick across all markets.

Spread analysis

Yes, it has appeared the Clippers and Warriors have reversed rolls heading into this matchup.

The Clips, despite losing last time out, have won seven of their previous eight games (7-1 ATS) while the Warriors enter this game ice cold having lost eight of 10 straight-up and going just 2-9-1 against the spread in their last 12 games overall.

That includes a 119-104 win for L.A. against this same Dubs team back on February 14 where Steph Curry put up 33 points but didn’t get much help as the Clippers walked away with the victory.

The Clippers, as noted, come into this one playing well and rank first in defensive rating over this nine-game stretch. However, you can question the level of their competition.

After notching notable wins over the Mavericks and Warriors, their next five wins came against the Lakers (twice) and the flightless Houston Rockets (thrice).

Things have been going so poorly for Golden State that it gave basically each of their starters an extra rest day, sitting Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Andrew Wiggins in its game against the Nuggets last night.

Obviously, the Warriors miss the presence of Draymond Green, but Steph and the boys should, in theory, be well-rested and focused heading into this matchup against a Clippers team that just struggled against the Knicks.

Expect the Dubs to come out firing, with a line low enough for the favorites to cover.

Prediction: Warriors -5.5 (-110)

Over/Under analysis

What made the Warriors so imposing to start the season was not only the fact that Steph Curry looked poised to make another run at the NBA MVP award but that Golden State was an absolute menace on the defensive end of the floor.

The Warriors spent much of the first half of the season ranked No. 1 in defensive rating, but has since plummeted during this recent slump. In fact, over the last 10 games, the Warriors have ranked 28th in that category.

Not having Draymond Green since early January is a big part of that but this is a well-coached team and the fall-off should not be this drastic.

A matchup with the Clippers' offense might help. Los Angeles is obviously missing its big stars and relies on a committee approach when it comes to scoring. Unfortunately for the Clippers, that can lead to inconsistency.

As a result, L.A. ranks 26th in offensive rating and 25th in scoring offense. The game against the Knicks was a perfect example where no one could get going, and they put up a measly 93 points.

The Clippers, of course, hang their hat on defense. They rank seventh in defensive rating but have been the top defense in the league over the last 10 games and have proven they can hold down stars like Steph Curry as well as the likes of Luka Doncic and LeBron James.

While the Warriors got a little extra rest, they are still hurting, and trying to break out against the Clippers could be a difficult task. Bet on this one to sneak Under the number.

Prediction: Under 222.5 (-110)

Best bet

While the Clippers are a great defensive team this season, surprisingly they struggle to secure rebounds at times. L.A. ranks 25th in rebounding percentage and 28th in opponent rebounds per game.

That presents an opportunity for Warriors center Kevon Looney, who has averaged 9.3 rebounds per game since Draymond Green has been out with his back injury. Looney’s rebounding total for this one is set at 8.5, a number he’s gone Over in five of his last nine games.

Bet on Looney to keep cleaning up the glass in this one. Board man gets paid.

Pick: Kevon Looney Over 8.5 rebounds (-115)
