Wednesday, January 15 brings a rather busy slate across the Association, with 11 games on the schedule. Two of my DraftKings’ Pick6 entries involve Ja Morant and Victor Wembanyama as the San Antonio Spurs face the Memphis Grizzlies.
I’m also eyeing LeBron James and Tyler Herro’s playmaking in a cross-conference matchup between the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers.

DraftKings NBA Pick6 fantasy basketball lineup for January 15
Ja Morant 23.5 Points: MORE
Ja Morant has missed 17 games this season, but he’s still putting up respectable averages of 21.4 points, 7.3 assists, and 4.3 rebounds. Ja just returned from injury and he’s scored more than 23.5 points in two of his last three since. That includes a 29-point showing against a solid Rockets team on Monday evening.
While the San Antonio Spurs’ roster has obviously changed a lot since Morant came into the league, he plays very well against them, averaging 28.5 ppg in 13 appearances. The guard is confident right now and he’ll score at a high level tonight.
Victor Wembanyama 25.5 Points: LESS
Speaking of San Antonio, Victor Wembanyama continues to prove why he is a generational talent. However, the Grizzlies will keep him at bay tonight. The big man has posted less than 25.5 points in four consecutive outings. He’s still scored 20+ in three of them, but Wemby has failed to clear tonight's number.
The Frenchman faced the Memphis Grizzlies four times in 2023-24, averaging just 22 points per game. He’s also putting up just 20 points per contest against Southwest Division opponents. The Grizzlies have a solid frontcourt defense as well, allowing just 22.6 PPG to centers.
LeBron James 8.5 Assists: LESS
An underrated skill of LeBron James’ game is his playmaking. He’s dishing out an impressive 8.8 dimes per night, serving as the Los Angeles Lakers’ top facilitator. However, I’m eyeing Bron to register less than 8.5 tonight because he’s done so in five of the last six.
While the veteran has finished with eight dimes in four of those games, he’s also had more than 8.5 assists in just three of his last eight appearances. The Lakers face the Miami Heat tonight and James compiled eight dimes versus them in early December.
Anthony Edwards 24.5 Points: MORE
Anthony Edwards is on a heater as a scorer. The Minnesota Timberwolves franchise cornerstone has shown out for more than 24.5 points in four of his last six games.
Edwards scored 30+ in all four, even dropping 53 on the Pistons on January 4. And the two games where he failed to do so came against stingy defenses in Memphis and Orlando. He’s also fresh off a 41-point eruption against the Wizards where he shot 14-for-25 from the field. The guard is also averaging 25.3 PPG versus the Golden State Warriors.
Jayson Tatum 8.5: MORE
Jayson Tatum is having another stellar campaign for the defending champion Boston Celtics, averaging a career-high 9.4 rebounds — 1.3 more than last season. The Duke product is truly making his presence felt on the glass and there’s a lot of reason why I like this entry tonight.
First, Boston is facing the lowly Toronto Raptors, who are towards the bottom of the NBA in rebounding. Tatum has also averaged 9.5 rebounds against Toronto in two appearances in 2024-25. Lastly, the forward has reeled in more than 8.5 in three of his last four games. He’ll dominate on the boards again.
Tyler Herro 5.5 Assists: LESS
While Tyler Herro was already emerging as the No. 1 option for the Miami Heat, that’s even more the case now with Jimmy Butler likely to be traded. With Butler on his way out, the offensive load has been on Herro’s shoulders and he’s carried it nicely, averaging 24 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists.
However, his playmaking isn’t always a huge priority because of the need to consistently score. In fact, Herro has dished out less than 5.5 assists in seven of his last eight and had just four assists against the Lakers earlier this season.
