DraftKings NBA Pick6 fantasy basketball lineup for January 29

Pistons Cade Cunningham 25.5 points: LESS

Cade Cunningham is having a spectacular year for the Detroit Pistons, who are a win away from clinching their highest win total for a season since going 41-41 in 2018-19. He’s averaging a career-high 24.8 points per game and has scored more than 26.5 in three of his last five. However, Cunningham is averaging 23.7 points against the East while scoring 27.5 versus Western Conference opponents. Detroit faces the Indiana Pacers tonight.

Indiana has limited him to 24 PPG across three meetings in 2024-25 and he’s also averaging less than 26.5 points on the road this season. We know Cunningham will make his presence felt, I just think he’ll have a relatively quiet night as a scorer.

Knicks Jalen Brunson 26.5 points: LESS

Jalen Brunson hasn’t been scoring at a high level of late, registering less than 26.5 points in four of his last five outings, finishing well below tonight’s total in two of those games. While the guard is still averaging 25.8 points on the year, that number drops to 23.6 at home and the New York Knicks are hosting the Denver Nuggets.

Also, Brunson had 23 points against Denver earlier in the campaign and only averaged 23.5 versus Nikola Jokic & Co. last season, too. All signs point to a quiet one for Brunson at Madison Square Garden.

Nuggets Nikola Jokic 10.5 assists: MORE

Jokic is having another MVP season with career-highs in points and assists. Tonight, we’ll focus on his playmaking. The Joker is averaging 10.2 dimes, which is ridiculous for a big man. His total sits at 10.5 but he’s dished out more than that in three straight, compiling 17, 11, and 14, respectively.

Although the Serbian had just seven assists against the Knicks in one meeting so far this season, it was a rare off-night and I expect him to have another big game as a facilitator. He’s also averaging 11.7 assists in January.

Cavaliers Donovan Mitchell 3.5 threes: LESS

Donovan Mitchell is a very good shooter, draining 39% of his threes this season, converting 3.7 of 9.2 attempts per contest. Even though he’s drained more than 3.5 in three of his last five, January hasn’t been the best month for the Cleveland Cavaliers guard from downtown.

His average in makes in January sits at 3.0 for a 34.3% clip. Mitchell was also just 1-for-5 against the Miami Heat earlier this season and they’re around the middle of the pack in 3-point percentage allowed. It won’t be a massive night for Mitchell from beyond the arc.

Suns Devin Booker 25.5 points: MORE

Devin Booker is on an absolute heater to start the new year. His season average sits at 25.5 and that number is up to 27 PPG in 13 January appearances. He’s scored more than 25.5 in three of his previous five outings and put up 30+ in two of those.

The Suns face the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight and Book torched them last time, erupting for 44 points. He’s also averaging 26.1 points against Western Conference teams and gets to play at home here.

Spurs Victor Wembanyama 11.5 rebounds: MORE

Victor Wembanyama is shining in Year 2 in more ways than one. Of course, he’s a premier rebounder given his size, averaging 10.8 boards. The big man has been absolutely dominating the glass in January as well, averaging 13 rebounds per night.

He’s collected more than 11.5 in three of his last five and finished in double digits each time. The Spurs take on the Los Angeles Clippers tonight and he’s averaged 11 rebounds across two meetings with them this season.
