The Toronto Raptors haven’t been very good at tanking, but they’ll have a team to oblige them when the Detroit Pistons come to town.
The Pistons’ magic number to clinch a playoff spot is one, and they are big 11.5-point road favorites tonight.
But don’t worry, my Raptors vs. Pistons predictions still have dedicated Raps fans covered — led by point guard Immanuel Quickley.

Raptors vs Pistons prediction
My Raptors pick: Immanuel Quickley Over 16.5 points (-105 at PointsBet Canada)
My analysis
The Toronto Raptors are set to host a motivated Detroit Pistons team that clinches a playoff spot with a win. Meanwhile, the Raptors will play the second half of a back-to-back following a 112-103 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers last night.
It’s no wonder the Pistons are 11.5-point favorites here. They are a defensive-minded, balanced, and well-coached team under JB Bickerstaff.
However, the Raptors aren’t the only ones with a loaded injury report tonight. Tobias Harris is already listed as out, and more importantly, team MVP Cade Cunningham is still listed as day-to-day with a calf ailment that has kept him out the last five games.
That should open up some room on the perimeter for Immanuel Quickley. The Raptors' point guard is playing every other game these days, and since he sat out last night’s game with “rest” cited as the reason, he should be suiting up tonight.
When Quickley has been on the floor, he’s been extremely efficient. IQ is averaging 20.1 points, boasting an effective field goal percentage of 53.4% over his last 10 games. That includes shooting 39.2% from 3-point range.
His point total for this one is sitting at just 16.5, a number Quickley has eclipsed in seven of his last 10 starts. It doesn’t hurt that Quickley also put up 25 points, including 4-of-9 from downtown when these teams last met on Jan. 11.
I’ll take the Over 16.5 on Quickley's points prop tonight, and 20+ points at +160 is also worth a splash.
Raptors vs Pistons same-game parlay
Not only has Quickley been efficient at scoring, but he’s also done a great job of getting his teammates involved. Quickley is averaging 6.4 assists over his last 10 games and has dished out seven or more dimes in five straight.
Let’s round this SGP out with Ausur Thompson to surpass 12.5 points. It’s been a breakout season for Thompson, and the team has relied on him to score more with Cunningham out.
He’s gone Over this number in four straight games, and with Harris out as well, he could have even more opportunities tonight.

Raptors vs Pistons spread and Over/Under analysis
- The Raptors opened this game as 11-point home underdogs, but the Pistons have still seen the early action, with the spread now sitting at 11.5.
- The Raptors are just 10-12 ATS when getting double digits on the points spread.
- The total hit the board at 229 and has been bet down slightly, with the number at 227.5 as of Friday afternoon.
- I would tend to agree with the early money. The Raptors have been one of the best defensive teams in the NBA since the All-Star break, while the Pistons have been Top 10 in defensive rating all season. With Cunningham potentially out again, it could mean buckets are hard to come by tonight.
