My best bet
Jalen Brunson Over 25.5 points (-125 at bet365)
My analysis
Jalen Brunson is having a solid campaign as the New York Knicks top option, averaging 25.6 points, 7.9 assists, and 2.8 rebounds on 39.6% shooting from three-point land. He has the highest usage rate on New York’s roster at 29.8%. He’s always got the rock in his hands.
The guard is coming off his best game of the season, dropping a 37-piece in a loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night. While he’s only hit the Over in points in three of the last five contests, the other two Brunson finished with 23 points.
Also, we need to look at just how shorthanded the Charlotte Hornets are. They’re already one of the worst defensive teams in the Association at full strength. With so many guys sidelined, it feels like a guarantee that the Knicks’ best player will take full advantage.
In 2023-24, Brunson averaged 24 PPG in four appearances against Charlotte. Again, he is going to have every opportunity to show out here and I do believe he will comfortably surpass his total for today’s matchup.

Cameron Payne has been an under-the-radar addition to the Knicks. The 30-year-old has jumped around quite a bit in his career but he’s really found a nice home as one of the leaders of this NY second unit. Payne is averaging 8.4 points, 3.4 assists, and 1.9 rebounds while draining 43.1% of his triples. He’s irreplaceable on both ends of the floor.
The former Murray State standout has hit the Over in points in seven of the last eight games, registering double-digits in four consecutive before putting up just six points in the loss to Dallas. However, he should also benefit from Charlotte’s anemic roster for this one. At such a low total and the trend of how he’s played lately, this is worth a bet.
While we could probably lock in the Knicks to cover the 12-point spread here, it’s a lot safer to go with the moneyline for this same-game parlay. After all, New York has won four in a row against the Hornets and six of the last seven.
I really do not see any way the Knicks lose here. Their only injuries are Precious Achiuwa and Mitchell Robinson, who have both let to play at all this season. New York should roll to a lopsided victory with a healthy lineup.
