Lakers vs Bulls Odds, Picks, and Predictions Tonight: Can Coby Lead Chicago to Victory?

With Zach Lavine sidelined, the Bulls needed someone to take on some of that scoring load and Coby White has done just that. He's been lights out of late and our NBA betting picks expect that to continue against the Lakers tonight.

The Los Angeles Lakers will try to snap a two-game skid when they roll into United Center tonight to take on the Chicago Bulls, who have been heating up with six wins in their last nine outings.

The Lakers could be shorthanded tonight with both LeBron James and Anthony Davis listed as questionable, leaving the door open for the Bulls to pick up another win in the NBA odds.

Find out if the hosts can keep rolling in our Lakers vs. Bulls NBA picks for Wednesday, December 20.

Lakers vs Bulls odds

Lakers vs Bulls predictions

The Chicago Bulls picked up an impressive victory on Monday, defeating the 76ers 108-104 and snapping Philly’s six-game win streak. While DeMar DeRozan had an off night with just 15 points on 5-for-15 shooting from the field, it was Coby White (24 points) and Nikola Vucevic (23 points) who stepped up to lead the charge.

Since Zach LaVine went down with a foot injury in late November, White has been a revelation for the Bulls, playing nearly 40 minutes per contest while seeing his points per game jump from 15.3 in November to 25.8 in December.

The point guard has scored at least 22 points in eight of his last nine outings while leading Chicago in scoring in five of those games.

Along with his increased usage, White has also been trusted to take more shots as his field goal attempts are up to nearly 17 per game this month — four more than last month — while he’s taking almost 10 threes per contest and sinking half of them.

The Lakers rank fifth worst in the league in 3-point attempts against per game (37.7), so White should have a field day from beyond the arc. Look for him to have another good night and cash this Over in the process.

My best bet: Coby White Over 22.5 points (-105 at DraftKings)

Lakers vs Bulls same-game parlay

Coby White Over 22.5 points

DeMar DeRozan Over 22.5 points

Over 225.5

50% boost available

We’ll go heavy on the Bulls in tonight’s same-game parlay, looking for both White and DeRozan to go Over their point totals while also looking for the teams to cash the Over at 225.5.

Along with White, DeRozan has had a strong December, averaging 24.1 points while scoring at least 23 in five of his last eight contests.

The Bulls have cashed the Over in five of their last six games while the Over is 7-0 in the Lakers’ last seven road contests, so these teams have been playing a lot of loose basketball and will likely produce another high-scoring game tonight.

Lakers vs Bulls spread and Over/Under analysis

The Lakers come into tonight’s meeting as the 3.5-point favorite on the road with the total set at 224.5 points. With the health of both James and Davis in the air and Los Angeles dropping three of its last four games, I’m going with Chicago to pull out the win on home court while cashing the Over.

The Bulls got off to a brutal start through the first two months of the season, picking up just four wins in November, but have bounced back nicely with six wins in their last nine games led by the one-two punch of DeRozan and White.

A big reason for Chicago’s recent success has been its lethal 3-point shooting this month, with the team ranking second in the NBA over that span with a 41.5% conversion rate.

Los Angeles has been one of the league’s worst teams at defending the three this season — giving up 13.8 makes per game — so that could be the deciding factor for the hosts tonight.

Outside of a tight win against the 76ers last time out, the Bulls have been playing high-scoring games over the last few weeks. Chicago has cashed the Over in nine of its last 12 outings while the Over is also 3-1 in Los Angeles’ last four contests.

Both defenses have been mediocre this season, with the Bulls and Lakers tied for 13th in the NBA in points allowed per game (113.3), so there should be plenty of opportunity for both teams to run up the score.
