Memphis Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane has scored 20+ in each of his last five, and he has a fantastic opportunity to continue that trend when he and the Grizzlies visit Gainbridge Fieldhouse and the Indiana Pacers.
Bane has been going strong since January. The fifth-year TCU product averaged a tick under 21 points per game (ppg) across 13 January contests and 21.3 ppg in four February games leading up to the break.
There’s always a danger of a long layoff affecting scorers like Bane, but he’s averaging 19+ on 3+ days rest and has scored 20+ in five straight.
The Grizzlies guard will benefit from what should be a lightning-fast, up-tempo game. Memphis plays at the second-fastest pace on the road, while Indiana plays at the 10th-fastest at home.
Bane will also benefit from a sometimes-inconsistent Pacers defense that allows an average of 23 ppg to shooting guards and has surrendered 124+ in each of its last three heading into the All-Star break.
I’m betting Bane clears his scoring prop number against the leaky Pacers defense.

I really like Bane against this Pacers defense, and I expect him to fuel a Grizzlies victory.
Bane is draining 39% of his six triple attempts away from Memphis. In his final game before the break, he dropped six from downtown on the LA Clippers and has cleared 3+ in six of 17 since January 1.
The Memphis guard meets an Indiana defense that surrenders 36% from downtown and 13 triples per game at home.
The Grizzlies' underrated defense can slow Indiana down enough for Bane, Ja Morant, and Jarren Jackson Jr. to hand Indiana its seventh loss in its last eight against Memphis and third-consecutive loss at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
