The James Harden saga is further dooming this floundering franchise, which shipped out Russell Westbrook for an injury-prone John Wall and canned Mike D'Antoni, forcing a major shift in how this team will operate.
The Rockets are losing their spot in the Western Conference with teams like Denver, Utah, and Portland all chasing down the L.A. teams.
PICK: Houston Rockets Under 35.5 (-120)

Call me a homer, but whatever. This is a lock. You can tell me the Raptors lost two more key pieces of their championship rotation.
I’ll tell you Serge Ibaka was a bench player who was an inconsistent shooter, and Marc Gasol was unplayable at times in the playoffs. While a year older, Kyle Lowry is still underrated, Pascal Siakam will be motivated after a poor playoff performance, Fred VanVleet was worth the money, and OG Anunoby is primed to break out.
And at the end of the day, Nick Nurse is a wizard and will get the absolute best of this bunch. Over. Over. OVER!
PICK: Raptors Over 42.5 (-110)

If people don’t want to weigh the bubble too heavily, that’s understandable. But the Suns were better than their pre-bubble record and the addition of Chris Paul is less about a boost in talent than it is about how much he’ll be able to bring along guys like Deandre Ayton, Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson.
PICK: Phoenix Suns Over 37.5 (-140)

Umm...have you SEEN the new chiseled Zion Williamson? Zion went and turned himself into the god of thunder(ing dunks). He’s no longer a soft rookie, he’s a hardened man...like a pirate had a baby with an angel.
Besides Zion’s transformation, the Pels added toughness in Steven Adams, perimeter defense in Eric Bledsoe and still have a roster full of young talent with Jaxson Hayes, Josh Hart and Nickeil Alexander-Walker to go with Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball.
But, most importantly, this new, fit Zion should also not have a minutes cap, which means he can wreak havoc on opposing teams all game long. Give me Over New Orleans’ modest win total at even money.
PICK: Pelicans Over 34.5 (+100)

Portland got it all clicking in the bubble, with Damian Lillard humiliating opposing defenses, Jusuf Nurkic playing arguably the best ball of his career, Gary Trent Jr. providing a two-way spark, and even Carmelo freaking Anthony proving himself a relevant rotation player again.
Getting Robert Covington was massive for a team that has long needed a 3-and-D forward, and landed one of the best. Portland now has legitimate wing depth for the first time in eons. Toss in the continuity from a quasi-full season together, freerolls on upside (Anfernee Simons), health (Zach Collins), or both (Harry Giles III), plus plenty of other West squads load-managing their stars.
Lots will have to go wrong for the Blazers to hit the Under on this total.
PICK: Portland Trail Blazers Over 39.5 (-142)
