The Brooklyn Nets have lost their last three games coming into this meeting with the Golden State Warriors, but they will get Kyrie Irving back in the lineup with this being a road game. The Nets will be hoping that Irving and James Harden will be enough to hang with Steph Curry and the rest of a loaded Warriors roster.

Spread analysis
The Nets are coming off a six-point loss to the Denver Nuggets in their last game, but they were missing Durant, Irving and Harden in that game. With two of them back, they’ll be feeling a lot better about their chances against the Warriors. We’ve seen Harden drag much worse teams to wins over Golden State in the past, and this version of the dubs is without Draymond Green. That means the Warriors aren’t quite as good on either end of the floor, but they’re especially vulnerable on defense.
Irving and Harden are still capable of getting to the basket whenever they want, and both of them should be able to score a good amount of points here. They’ll also be able to kick out to Patty Mills, who is one of the true microwave shooters in the NBA. Mills has never had more talent around him than he does in Brooklyn, and the veteran is shooting 42.5% from the outside on 7.6 attempts per game. His presence helps make it very difficult for opposing teams to cover the Nets stars, as they simply don’t have the option of doubling.
James Johnson is another player that could have an impact on this game. Johnson is a solid small-ball forward for the Nets, as he plays extremely hard on both ends of the floor and can be counted on to do the little things. Normally, it wouldn’t be worth mentioning a player like him in a star-studded game like this, but his presence will be felt with the Warriors missing Green.
Of course, Brooklyn will need to find a way to stop Golden State in this game, and that’s not going to be easy for Steve Nash’s group. But Brooklyn is a bit better than it’s given credit for on the defensive end, and the team should be able to play just well enough to keep this game within five or so.
Prediction: Nets +6.5 (-112)
Over/Under analysis
The Over has hit in two of Brooklyn’s last three games and those ones were just absurdly high-scoring contests. The Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves combined to score 261 points on January 23 and the Nets then combined to score 242 points with the Denver Nuggets last game. Meanwhile, Golden State is coming off back-to-back Overs heading into this game. The Warriors are averaging 127.0 points per game over their last two contests, and it’s just hard to see this one not being a high-scoring affair with so much offensive talent on the floor at once.
The last time these two teams met in Golden State, they combined to score 251 points in a game with a total of 246. They should join forces to cover this number.
Prediction: Over 232 (-110)
Best bet
There’s no denying that it’s hard for Irving to be in and out of the lineup, but he’s seemingly getting comfortable on the court again. Irving has had 30 points in two of his last three games, and he has had at least 27 points in three of the last four.
The Warriors might have one of the best defenses in basketball, but they’re missing one of the game’s best help defenders. With Irving capable of getting by anybody with his crafty handle, that’s going to be a problem for Golden State. Irving is also a competitive player that wants to be considered one of the best in the world at his position, so he’ll be fired up for this matchup with Curry.
Look for Irving to have no trouble getting to the 25-point mark in this game, and don’t be shocked if he ends up having at least 30.
Pick: Kyrie Irving Over 24.5 Points (-104)
