With just a handful of games remaining in the regular season, Friday’s primetime showdown between the Nuggets and Warriors will have major playoff implications. Just 2.5 games separate the No. 3 and No. 8 seeds in the Western Conference standings.

My best bet: Stephen Curry Over 27.5 points (-110 at bet365)
My analysis
Stephen Curry has been resplendent across his last two games, dropping 37 and 52 points while leading his team to back-to-back victories over the Lakers and Grizzlies, respectively. The Golden State Warriors have climbed out of the Play-In Tournament, and a Top 3 seed is very much in play.
The Chef has scored 89 points on 26-for-52 shooting across his last two, knocking down a ridiculous 16 of 31 shots from beyond the arc.
He’s hit the Over on this line just 22 times across 64 appearances this season, but he’s reached that mark in nine of 19 post-All-Star break. Since returning from the break, Curry has averaged 27.6 points compared to just 23.4 points pre-break.
The Denver Nuggets have had Curry’s number in recent matchups, but the Nuggets’ defense is not one to fear.
On the season, Denver has allowed 14.1 3-pointers and 36.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Both marks are good for ninth-most in the Association. But the Nuggets have allowed the seventh-most points to opponents at 116.9 this season, and over the last seven, Denver has surrendered 118.7.
Denver has allowed opposing PGs to put up 24.4 points and 3.4 triples per game. The Chef should have no problem cooking this vulnerable defense in front of the home crowd.
Surely, no one understands the magnitude of a victory tonight more than Curry, and I expect him to do everything in his power to secure a win and favorable playoff positioning for his team.

He’s corralled 12 or more rebounds in five of his last six on the road, and I expect him to do it again tonight against an undersized Warriors frontcourt.
This one is essentially a pick ‘em, and the Warriors moneyline carries -110 odds. Unless we expect a 1-point win and a push, the best value is taking Golden State to cover at longer -105 odds.
The Warriors are 23-14 straight-up at home and 19-8 as the home favorite this season. Golden State is 8-1 at home with Jimmy Butler in the lineup this season.
