It may be Super Bowl week but that doesn’t mean we can overlook the NBA player prop market. With five games on the schedule, we look to kick the week off with some winners.

We start by looking at the red-hot Raptors and one of their sharpshooters in tonight’s matchup against the Hornets, while Josh Giddey will have to step up in the absence of some of his teammates when the Thunder host the Warriors.

Check out our NBA player prop picks for Monday, February 7, as we bank on some of the NBA's best to do their thing.

Today’s best NBA player props

Trenting in the right direction

The Toronto Raptors are on a pretty remarkable run, winning five straight games and taking down some of the Eastern Conference’s top contenders, all the while playing with an extremely short rotation. The Raps will look to keep roaring when they visit the high-flying Charlotte Hornets on Monday night.

One reason the Raptors have played so well of late has been that the offense has started to catch up to the defense. Fred VanVleet is now an All-star and Pascal Siakam is not far off. But getting support from someone like Gary Trent Jr. is a huge boost.

Even though Trent hasn't hit his made threes prop in either of his last two games, that doesn't mean he's cooled off. The Raps sharpshooter is red hot. He’s shooting 48.4% from beyond the arc on 10.1 attempts per game over his last nine. Trent has also hit four or more threes six times over that stretch and has never hit fewer than three in a game.

Now, he faces a Hornets team that has trouble when it comes to defending the perimeter. The Hornets allow the second-most 3-point attempts per game in the NBA while ranking 23rd in opponent 3-point shooting percentage.

This game should have a free-flowing high tempo, which plays well into Trent’s game. Bet him to get back on track and go Over his made threes total once again.

Pick: Gary Trent Jr. Over 3.5 made threes (-125 at DraftKings)

Kuzma under glass

Kyle Kuzma has been the best rebounder for an undersized Washington Wizards squad, averaging 8.8 boards this season but tonight’s opponent, the Miami Heat, will provide a tough matchup on the glass.

Kuzma has slowed down a bit on the boards lately, averaging 8.1 rebounds per game over his last seven, grabbing eight or fewer five times over that stretch. That included matchups against good rebounding teams like the Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies, and now he goes against one of the absolute best rebounding teams in the NBA.

Behind the likes of Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler, Miami ranks fifth in rebounding percentage and allows the fewest opponent rebounds per game in the NBA. This means we’re betting it's another light night on the glass for Kuzma.

Pick: Kyle Kuzma Under 8.5 rebounds (-120 at FanDuel)

Giddey up

A big part of betting NBA player props is about finding opportunities, like the one in front of Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Josh Giddey. With OKC missing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Lu Dort, Giddey put up a career-high 24 points on 10 for 19 shooting from the floor in his last game against the Sacramento Kings.

Things will get a little tougher on Monday night when the Thunder face off against the Golden State Warriors, who are one of the best defensive teams in the NBA, but with SGA still out and Dort questionable, somebody is going to have to score for the Thunder, and Giddey looks like the guy.

The Thunder rookie has started to take on more of an offensive responsibility lately. Giddey has upped his output to 14.3 attempts per game over his last eight contests while averaging 15.1 points on 46.5% shooting.

The matchup against the Warriors is a tough one. They lead the NBA in defensive rating but we are getting close to the point where there is no one else for the Thunder to put up even their small amount of points.

As 12.5-point favorites, the Warriors also have a chance to run away with this one, allowing them to let off the gas while letting Giddey get some easy buckets late. Take the Over on his points.

Pick: Josh Giddey Over 15.5 points (+100 at DraftKings)
