Kristaps Porzingis continues to impress for the Boston Celtics, and the 7-footer headlines my NBA picks for Friday, January 31 as I look for him to stay hot from 3-point range.

I’ll also be banking on Miles Bridges of the Charlotte Hornets to pick up plenty of points and rebounds, while Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins also rains down the threes.

NBA player props for January 31

Kristaps Porzingis Over 2.5 threes (+125 at bet365)

The Boston Celtics continue to struggle with a 7-6 record over their last 13 games, but that hasn’t stopped Kristaps Porzingis from shining. The center is fresh off his first 30-point game of the season as he scored 34 against the Bulls on Wednesday while going 8-for-14 from 3-point range.

Porzingis has always been a capable three-point shooter, especially for a center, with a career average of 36.4% from beyond the arc. He’s taken it to another level this season, though, as Porzingis is draining 42.1% of his attempts from deep while also averaging a career-high 2.6 makes per game.

The lanky Latvian has been deadly from three in January, especially as he’s averaging 3.1 makes on 6.1 attempts per contest. He’s nailed at least three treys in three straight games and eight of his last nine contests, and it doesn’t seem like the books have caught on quite yet.

Additionally, the New Orleans Pelicans have been abysmal at defending the 3-pointer, sitting fifth-last in opponent threes made per game (14.2) and seventh-last in opponent threes attempted per contest (38.9).

Miles Bridges Over 29.5 points and rebounds (-115 at bet365)

The Charlotte Hornets opened as a massive 14.5-point dog against the Los Angeles Clippers, but that shouldn’t stop Miles Bridges from putting up some numbers.

In fact, part of the reason why the Hornets are such a big underdog is because of their lengthy injury list. The team’s top two scorers, Lamelo Ball (ankle) and Brandon Miller (wrist) are both out, which should give Bridges more touches on the ball.

Out of Charlotte’s remaining players, Bridges (20.9 ppg, 7.3 rpg) is the only guy averaging more than 10 points and seven rebounds per game.

The small forward has really taken matters into his own hands this past week as he saw his field goal attempts jump from about 16 to an average of 22 over his last two contests. That translated into a total of 49 points across those games, to go along with 21 rebounds — including 13 boards on Wednesday.

Bridges has reached 20+ points in 12 of his last 15 games, while also hitting the Over on 29.5 points plus rebounds in two straight and three of his last seven.

Andrew Wiggins Over 2.5 threes (+125 at bet365)

When you think of a 3-point shooter on the Golden State Warriors, Steph Curry is always going to come to mind, but Andrew Wiggins has been a threat in his own right this season.

The Canadian has averaged 2.4 threes per game in January and dropped a season-high five treys in his last outing against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday — the second time he’s hit that mark in his last five contests and the fourth time this season.

Wiggins has also increased his three-point output this month, averaging 6.8 attempts per game — 1.5 more than in December. He's definitely more of a streaky shooter from three, but Wiggins hit at least three treys in two straight games and five of his last nine.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have been pretty mediocre at defending the three, ranking 18th in opponent threes made per game (13.6) and 15th in opponent 3-point percentage (36%).
