The Indiana Pacers rebuild is imminent. The Pacers have lost nine of their last 10 games to fall to 15-28 for the season and sit in 13th place in the Eastern Conference. One guy who sounds like he is sticking around is Domantas Sabonis, and the Pacers big man is set up to have a big game when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers.
While the Pacers have struggled, Sabonis has continued to do his thing, showing he is a piece that you can build around. Sabonis is averaging 18.9 points and 11.9 rebounds this season but he’s been even more active on the glass lately.
Sabonis is averaging 12.9 rebounds over his last 10 games and has hauled down 12 or more seven times over that stretch. He should have no problem cleaning up the glass in this one.
The Clippers have lost five of their last seven games and one place where they really struggle is on the glass. Los Angeles is one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA, ranking 28th in rebounding percentage and 29th in opponent rebounds per game.
Bet on Sabonis to have another big game on the boards and to go Over his rebounding total.
Pick: Domantas Sabonis Over 12.5 rebounds (-130 at DraftKings)
Book him, Devin
The Phoenix Suns rolled through the Eastern Conference portion of their five-game road trip, going 3-0 and averaging 115.3 points per game.
Monday, they head to San Antonio to take on the Spurs, who just ended a five-game losing streak with a win over the Clippers last time out. But the Suns pose a much bigger problem for San Antonio.
The Suns own the NBA’s best record at 33-9 and are led by excellent guard play from Devin Booker and future Hall of Famer Chris Paul. And if there is something the Spurs struggle with, it is good guard play. In fact, San Antonio allows the second-most points per game to opposing guards in the NBA.
And for this matchup, we’ll look closer at Book. The Suns point guard has put up 65 points over the last two games and has tallied 26 or more in three of his last four while shooting 43.7% from the field. Bet on him to take advantage of this matchup and go Over his point total.
Pick: Devin Booker Over 25.5 points (-105 at DraftKings)
Pardon my French
Rudy Gobert returned to the Utah Jazz and picked up right where he left off before he hit the COVID list, putting up 18 points and pulling down 19 boards last time out against the Denver Nuggets. Now, Gobert gets a second consecutive juicy matchup when he and the Jazz visit the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night.
Gobert is averaging 15.6 points and 15.2 rebounds per game for the season and faces a Lakers team that is struggling once again, having lost three games in a row. And players like Gobert have given Los Angeles real problems this year.
Simply put, the Lakers struggle on the inside. They rank 28th in opponent points in the paint and 21st in rebounding percentage. Anthony Davis still being out certainly doesn’t help matters.
With a points + rebounding prop of just 29.5, a number Gobert has gone Over 11 times in his last 14 games, the Stifle Tower has a fantastic chance to take down that number once again.
Pick: Rudy Gobert Over 29.5 points + rebounds (-115 at FanDuel)
