Today’s NBA Player Prop Picks: Embiid Continues Crushing vs. Pels

With the NBA season past its midway point, some very consistent and lucrative trends are emerging. We're leaning on three of them for an uncharacteristically crowded Tuesday night slate with tonight's NBA player prop picks.

It should be a great night of NBA betting action with nine games on the board to dig into. That means plenty of options for player props, including some of our favorites going right now.

Joel Embiid will try to continue his torrid scoring pace as the 76ers host the Pelicans and Kevon Looney keeps giving us value with his rebounding total as the Warriors host the Mavericks.

Check out our NBA player prop picks for Tuesday, January 25, as we bank on some of the NBA's best to do their thing.

Today’s best NBA player props

The Washington Wizards are in a bit of a slump, having lost three straight games, falling to 10th in the Eastern Conference standings. They’ll try to end that slump when they host the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night, and one of the edges the Wiz will have is on the glass.

That's an interesting development considering how the Wizards run several small-ball lineups. Despite this, forward Kyle Kuzma has stepped up in a big way, becoming Washington’s best rebounder. Kuzma averages 8.8 rebounds per game but that has bumped up to 10.7 over his last 15 games.

Now, he goes against a Clippers team that needs more than a vat of Windex to help them clean up the glass these days. Los Angeles ranks 27th in the NBA when it comes to rebounding percentage and next-to-last in opponent rebounds per game.

So, getting even money on the Over 8.5 for Kuzma’s rebounding total against a team this soft on the glass is too tempting to pass up. Particularly when you consider that Kuzma has gone Over this number 11 times over this 15-game stretch.

Pick: Kyle Kuzma Over 8.5 rebounds (+100 at FanDuel)

Joel Embiid continues to climb up the NBA MVP odds thanks to his incredible scoring streak and he’ll look to continue this dominant run when the Philadelphia 76ers host the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night.

Embiid has looked unstoppable since the middle of December. Over the last 17-game stretch, Embiid has averaged 33.8 points per game while shooting 54.9% from the floor, which includes 41.1 % from 3-point range.

He has scored fewer than 31 points just twice over that span and has put up 32 points or more in five straight contests and 10 times overall in those 17 games. So, the question is can the Pels be the ones to slow him down?

Well, for starters, the Pelicans rank 23rd in defensive ranking and 19th in opponent points to opposing centers. On top of that, the Pels could have some heavy legs, playing their second game in as many nights.

Embiid looks unstoppable at the moment and despite the fact that sportsbooks have adjusted a bit, we’re going to keep riding his points prop until he shows any sign of slowing down, especially against a beat-up and tired Pels team. Fade his streak at your own risk.

Pick: Joel Embiid Over 31.5 points (-105 at FanDuel)

Kevon Looney’s rebounding prop has been one of my favorite NBA player props going recently. Ever since Draymond Green went down with a calf injury, Looney has been a beast on the boards for the Golden State Warriors.

Looney averages 7.2 rebounds per game for the season, but in the 10 games Green has missed, that number has bumped up to 10.7 and Looney will look to keep putting up big numbers on the board when the Warriors host the Dallas Mavericks.

The Mavericks are a strong defensive unit, but a place they could be stronger is on the glass. Dallas ranks a middle-of-the-pack 16th in rebounding percentage and 12th in opponent rebounds per game.

But the bigger deal here is that books still don’t seem to be adjusting to the fact that Looney is the Dubs' main man on the inside and continue to set his rebounding total at 8.5, a number Looney has eclipsed seven times in his last 10 games.

Pick: Kevon Looney Over 8.5 rebounds (+100 at bet365)

The sportsbook where he does the bulk of his betting is bet365 thanks to its numerous prop betting options and competitive odds. His best advice? Find the balance between the numbers and what you see on the playing field. Then find the best price using multiple books. And don’t ask him where the nickname Taco comes from. It’s not an interesting story. Seriously.
