What's the Russ?

Just when it looked like the trade for Russell Westbrook was a complete disaster, the Clippers pulled off back-to-back victories against the Grizzlies and Raptors. However, it has become abundantly clear that at this point in his career, Westbrook is better utilized as a role player and not the star he once was.

He scored just nine points in 34 minutes against Memphis, then dropped just seven points on six field-goal attempts in a modest 23 minutes versus Toronto. Today, the Clips host a Knicks team that had won nine in a row before dropping its last two contests.

Westbrook has never been a dangerous shooter from the outside and has gotten the majority of his buckets when attacking the rim. That doesn't bode well for his success against a Knicks team that allows a league-low 45.5 points per game in the paint and the fourth-fewest ppg (12.4) on the fast break.

If the Clips want to beat the Knicks they should lean on Kawhi Leonard and Paul George for scoring with Westbrook once again taking a back seat. Take the Under 13.5 on Westbrook's points total.

Russell Westbrook prop: Under 13.5 points (-115)

Tyus Stones doesn't sink

The Ja Morant saga continues in Memphis and with Morant missing the last three games, backup point guard Tyus Jones has been picking up the slack. Jones is one of the better reserve point guards in the league and he has usually done an excellent job when filling in.

He had 25 points and 12 assists against the Clippers on Sunday, was held to 16 points and three assists by the Lakers on Tuesday, and then bounced back with a 22-point, 11-assist game vs. the Warriors on Thursday. Today, Jones and the Griz will take on a Dallas team that ranks just 23rd in the league in defensive rating.

With Jones averaging 19.3 ppg and 7.9 apg in 12 games as a starter this season, bet the Over 23.5 on his points and assists total.

Tyus Jones prop: Over 23.5 points and assists (-123)

Wings spread

Pelicans forward Herb Jones has seen his minutes surge lately, which should mean plenty of production today against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The sophomore is averaging a modest 9.5 ppg and 4.1 rpg in 29.1 mpg this season but has logged at least 36 minutes in each of his last three games. He's coming off a nine-rebound performance against the Mavs on Wednesday and before that grabbed eight boards against the Kings on Monday.

Jones is the Pelicans' best defender and they should keep giving him plenty of burn, at least until Zion Williamson returns at the end of the month.

The Thunder play at the third-fastest pace in the league and are a subpar shooting squad so there should be plenty of available rebounds in this contest. Expect Jones to fill up the stat sheet again today and take the Over 5.5 on his rebounds.

Herbert Jones prop: Over 5.5 rebounds (+112 at FanDuel)
