Specifically, our NBA player props are eyeing the Atlanta Hawks hosting the Washington Wizards, the Toronto Raptors welcoming the winless Denver Nuggets, and the Chicago Bulls facing the Memphis Grizzlies on the road.
Tonight's market is chock full of excellent player prop values, but I’ve sifted through them to find the best of the best. My favorite NBA picks for October 28 feature two stars ready to dominate their respective matchups and an unheralded big man in a phenomenal spot.

NBA player props for October 28
Prop bet #1: Trae Young Over 26.5 points
Trae Young has been blisteringly hot through three games to begin the 2024-25 campaign. The Atlanta Hawks traded Dejounte Murray in the offseason, and the team didn’t make any notable moves to bring in additional scoring and shooting. Young is averaging a career-best 30.7 points thus far, and he’s doing all he can to carry the offense.
Young has scored at least 24 points in all three games and hit for at least 30 points twice. He’s shooting 46.3% on 18 field-goal attempts and knocking down three triples per game. Young averaged 27.5 points against the Washington Wizards in four games last season.
The rebuilding Wizards are unsurprisingly struggling on defense, allowing the most points per game and the highest 3-point percentage. This is an excellent spot for Young to stroke it from beyond the arc while also getting to the basket with ease, so I’m confidently taking the Over on this scoring prop.
Prop bet #2: Nikola Jokic Over 27.5 points
Uh oh. The Denver Nuggets are 0-2 after dropping their opener to the Oklahoma City Thunder and following that up with a close loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday. Nikola Jokic poured in 41 points, but the scoring just wasn’t enough.
Though it’s still very early in the season, the Nuggets will surely come into tonight’s game against the Toronto Raptors with a clear sense of urgency. The Nuggets won the NBA title two seasons ago and came within a game of making the Western Conference Finals last season. This team has too much pride to slip to 0-3.
The Raptors offer an exploitable matchup, having surrendered the eighth-most points overall and the 11th-most in the paint. Jokic hit a career-high seven triples against Los Angeles on Saturday, but his bread and butter is shooting inside the arc. He posted 35 and 31 points in two matchups with the Raptors last season and scored at least 28 points in 43 of 79 games. Take the Over as Jokic leads his team to its first win of the season.
Prop bet #3: Nikola Vucevic Over 28.5 points + rebounds
Well, what do you know? Veteran Chicago Bulls big man Nikola Vucevic is enjoying a tremendous start to the 2024-25 campaign, though you wouldn’t know it if you weren’t paying close attention. Vucevic doesn’t get the recognition he deserves for a 20/10 glue guy on a team that overachieved over the first week of the season.
Through three games, Vooch is averaging 20.3 points and 11.3 boards, his most in either category in four seasons. He’s hit the Over on this line in every game this season, and he found success against the Memphis Grizzlies a season ago with 20/10 and 11/11 double-doubles.
The Grizzlies allow the fourth-most rebounds to opponents and the fifth-most points. Vooch has been Chicago’s most consistent option thus far, and I’m backing him to have another strong performance in a favorable matchup on the road. Take the Over here.
