Action Jackson
Reggie Jackson has emerged as the Clippers' second-highest scorer this season, averaging 18.1 points per game, albeit on just 38.9 percent shooting. That said, he's become more efficient over the last couple of weeks while his field goal attempts have remained at a high level.
Jackson has scored at least 19 points in seven of his last eight games, averaging 21 ppg on 44.4 percent shooting while attempting 18 FGA per game during that span. He's also had the green light from deep, averaging 9.4 three-point attempts per game this season.
Tonight, Jackson and the Clippers face off against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizzlies are allowing a league-high 113.5 ppg and rank second-last in the NBA in defensive rating. They also struggle to defend perimeter shots, surrendering the fourth-most three-pointers per game (13.9) at the second-highest clip (39.4 percent).
Expect Jackson to take his typical amount of shots tonight, and convert at a high enough rate to go Over his points total of 18.5.
Pick: Reggie Jackson Over 18.5 points (-112 at PointsBet)
Not bogged down
The Utah Jazz are fresh off a 120-85 beatdown of the 76ers and welcome the sliding Toronto Raptors to Vivint Arena tonight. Toronto is 1-5 SU and ATS in its last six games and has really struggled on the defensive end of the floor lately.
The Raps are coming off a game against the Blazers where they surrendered 118 points on 56 percent shooting from the field, and prior to that were torched for 127 points on 54 percent shooting by the Pistons. Now they'll have to take on a Jazz team that leads the league in offensive rating and has five players averaging over 13 ppg.
One of those guys is Bojan Bogdanovic, who averages 17.7 ppg and is coming off back-to-back impressive performances, scoring 26 points against Miami on the weekend before dropping 27 against Philly on Tuesday. Take the Over 16.5 on Bogdanovic's points total tonight.
Pick: Bojan Bogdanovic Over 16.5 points (-112 at PointsBet)
All jokes aside
Life without Joel Embiid has not been fun for the Philadelphia 76ers, who have lost five games in a row and head to Denver to take on the Nuggets and Nikola Jokic. Jokic claimed the NBA MVP award over Embiid last season and he should thrive without the Sixers starting center in the lineup.
Philadelphia signed Andre Drummond to provide depth at the position, but he hasn't done much lately, with the 76ers surrendering 54.7 points per game in the paint over their last three contests, the second-worst number in the league. The Sixers also rank second-last in the league in rebounding rate this season despite that being one of the few things that Drummond brings to the court.
Jokic is coming off a 35 point, 16 rebound performance against the Mavericks. His points and rebounds total today is set at 39.5, a number he has surpassed in five of his last six games. Back another big performance from the Joker and bet the Over on that number.
Pick: Nikola Jokic Points + Rebounds Over 39.5 (-120 at PointsBet)
