Something is fitting about an NBA Sunday slate loaded with tanking teams taking place during the business end of March Madness.
But if you look beyond the true basement dwellers, we’ve got some fun matchups on deck, including a test for the Los Angeles Clippers in Cleveland and the feisty Detroit Pistons visiting the Minnesota Timberwolves.
I’ve sifted through a pile of NBA player props for the March 30 action – and here are my top three NBA picks for March 30!
Best NBA player props today
-
Avdija Over 13.5 rebounds+assists (-115 at bet365)
-
Booker Under 24.5 points (-115 at bet365)
-
Randle Over 23.5 points+rebounds (-120 at bet365)
NBA player props for March 30
Deni Avdija Over 13.5 rebounds+assists (-115 at bet365)
The Portland Trail Blazers’ play-in hopes have fizzled out, but there are plenty of positives for Chauncey Billups heading into next season, with Deni Avdija surely near the top of that list.
Avdija has thrived in an expanded role— he’s averaged 35.5 minutes per game in March — and I like this 13.5 O/U line for his rebounds + assists prop against the New York Knicks. A number he's surpassed in four of his last five contests.
His work on the glass is the key, with Avdija pulling down eight or more rebounds in five straight. He could get most of the way to this Over on boards alone — in fact, he’s pulled down 15+ rebounds three times this month.
The playmaking comes and goes, but Avdija is still averaging 5.3 assists per game in March, and he should be a pivotal cog against a wing-heavy New York squad.
This pick feels even stronger when you consider Anfernee Simons is listed as day-to-day with an arm injury and Jerami Grant is doubtful.
Devin Booker Under 24.5 points (-115 at bet365)
The buzz around a Phoenix Suns revival took a hit after heavy losses at the hands of the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves this week, and their Play-In hopes could be dented further against the Houston Rockets tonight.
Houston’s relentless wings are set to be a nightmare for Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, and I’m fading the Booker points prop here as he faces Dillon Brooks and Amen Thompson.
Booker has fallen short of this 24.5 number in four straight contests, and he went 8-for-27 in Phoenix’s past two losses. He’s shooting just 32% from downtown this month, including 2-for-21 on 3-pointers across his last four outings.
The Rockets are giving up just 109.1 ppg, which ranks fifth-best in the league, and they allow the second-fewest 3-point attempts per game. That may force Booker to lean into his playmaking, which has been impressive over the past few weeks.
Houston limited Booker to 19 points in the lone meeting this season, and I’m predicting a similar outcome here.
Julius Randle Over 23.5 points+rebounds (-120 at bet365)
The Julius Randle fit in Minnesota still looks clunky at times, but he could be finding his best form just in time for a postseason charge. Randle is averaging 18 ppg in March, and I’m expecting another strong outing tonight against the Pistons.
The points + rebounds prop stands out to me, with Randle edging past this 23.5 line in two of his last three games, including a 25-point, six-rebound effort against the Phoenix Suns on Friday.
I’m always drawn to a combo prop where a player can do most of the damage in a single category, and that’s Randle here. He’s had at least 17 points in six of his last eight contests.
Randle is also a factor on the boards despite Rudy Gobert’s presence in the paint, and he grabbed seven rebounds against Detroit in January. With Gobert and Jalen Duren cancelling each other out on the glass, look for Randle to swoop in and put the finishing touches on this Over.
