The 2024 NBA Cup continues tonight with 11 games on the NBA betting board. That gives us plenty of player props to dig into and I'm expecting Thunder big man Isaiah Hartenstein to continue his strong play down low.
My NBA picks are also backing Charlotte's Josh Green and Cavs points guard Darius Garland with my favorite NBA player props for December 3.
Best NBA player props today
- Garland Over 19.5 points (-120 at bet365)
- Green Over 1.5 threes (-145 at bet365)
- Hartenstein Over 24.5 points+rebounds (-120 at bet365)
Picks made on 12-3 at 11:00 a.m. ET.
NBA player props for December 3
Prop bet #1: Darius Garland Over 19.5 points
To say the Washington Wizards have been awful on defense would be an understatement. They're 26th in the NBA in opponent effective field goal percentage (55.9%), 25th in opponent turnover rate (12.7%), and that combined with the fourth-fastest pace has led to them surrendering 123.1 points per game.
The Wizards are massive 16.5-point road underdogs tonight against the first-place Cleveland Cavaliers. Cleveland's offense has been spearheaded by the backcourt of Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland.
Since the start of November, Garland has scored 20+ points in nine of 15 games while averaging 21.7 ppg during that span.
There is some concern he could be benched if this becomes a blowout, but he logged at least 30 minutes in Cleveland's last four double-digit victories and dropped at least 20 points in three of those contests.
Prop bet #2: Josh Green Over 1.5 threes
The Charlotte Hornets have been decimated by injuries with superstar guard LaMelo Ball out for the next two weeks with a left calf strain. Ball was leading the team (and was second in the league) with 31.1 ppg and the Hornets are also missing their third, fourth, and sixth-leading scorers
That has meant a lot more shots for Josh Green who has vaulted into becoming Charlotte's No. 2 scoring option behind Brandon Miller. Green has knocked down at least a pair of threes while scoring 10+ points in six of his last nine games.
He's coming off a game against the Hawks where he dropped a season-high 17 points on 4-for-7 shooting from deep and before that he scored 15 points with three treys against the Knicks.
The 76ers have been right around the league average when it comes to defending this season, sitting 14th in points per game allowed (112.1) and 15th in opponent 3-point percentage (35.9%).
Prop bet #3: Isaiah Hartenstein Over 24.5 points + rebounds
The Oklahoma City Thunder signed Isaiah Hartenstein in the offseason in the hopes of improving their rebounding and ability to score inside. The seven-footer missed the first month of the season with a hand injury but made his team debut two weeks ago and has been a force down low, averaging 15.2 points and 13.8 rebounds per game.
The O/U on Hartenstein's points + rebounds today is set at 24.5 and he's racked up at least 27 pts + rebs in all five games he's played this year. With Chet Holmgreen sidelined for at least five more weeks with a pelvic fracture, Hartenstein will continue to see a ton of playing time as OKC's only true big man.
Hartenstein is poised for a big game tonight against the Utah Jazz who are 26th in the league in scoring defense (117.9 ppg), with that number ticking up to 120.6 ppg on the road.
The Jazz are dead-last in the league at defending the rim per ShotQualityBets while ranking 26th in defense against post-up plays.
