The Toronto Raptors are coming off a thrilling triple-overtime victory over the Eastern Conference-leading Miami Heat. But the Raptors will need that same effort if they hope to slow down the suddenly high-flying Atlanta Hawks.
The Hawks have won seven straight games to climb into the 10th and final play-in spot in the East but if they want to make it eight, they might have to do so without Trae Young. Can Toronto take care of business as a slight road favorite?

Raptors vs Hawks picks and predictions
Our predictions are compiled from the analysis of the spread and total and are indications of where we are leaning for this game.
Our best bet is the play that we like the most for this game, which we would actually put some of our bankroll behind.
Spread analysis
The Raptors are still trying to find some consistency this season and are hoping the triple-overtime victory over the Eastern Conference-leading Miami Heat could be a launching point for them.
The Raptors are 24-23 and sit in eighth place in the East but haven’t won back-to-back games since a six-game winning streak came to an end back at the beginning of January.
But despite the inconsistent results, the Raptors have played well in 2022, ranking 11th in net rating since the start of January while Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam are both making strong cases for All-Star appearances.
The biggest problem for Toronto is their depth. They only have about six players they can rely on, on a regular basis. (Look for Masai Ujiri to address that depth at the trade deadline). But that might not be an issue for a Hawks team without its best player.
Yes, the Hawks have won and covered seven games in a row and the offense has been humming, but that was with Trae Young on the court. While the Hawks have managed to go 2-2 SU without Young this season, the offense has stalled in those spots, putting up just 97.8 points per game.
While it’s the Raptors who sometimes struggle with depth, they are facing a Hawks team potentially without Young and playing its second game in as many nights. Back the Raps to cover as short road chalk.
Prediction: Raptors -1.5 (-110)
Over/Under analysis
When it comes to the total the number reopened at 215.5 but that number still might not be low enough.
As noted, the Hawks offense has struggled without Young this season, putting up less than 100 points per game with the Under going 4-0 in those matchups. Now, they’ll face a tenacious Raptors defense known for causing deflections and steals. Toronto also ranks 10th in defensive rating since the start of January, giving up just 106.4 points per game.
On the other side, the Raptors' offense is still not as efficient as they would like it to be and rank 26th in effective field goal percentage in January while scoring just 109.5 points over that span. (And that number is a little higher than it should be thanks to the 3OT game versus the Heat).
Additionally, the Hawks probably won’t play at as high a tempo without Young on the court and the Raptors rank 27th in pace. Bet on this one to stay Under the number.
Prediction: Under 215.5 (-110)
Best bet
With how the Hawks struggle without Young, and the Raptors still not being an efficient offense, the Under looks like a solid bet, so that will make the list of best bets for this one, but we’re not stopping there because there looks like some value on a Siakam prop for this one.
Siakam is playing his best basketball since 2019 averaging 23 points on 48.5% shooting while adding 9.0 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game over 18 games dating back to the middle of December.
Now, the Hawks have played better on defense as of late but still rank 21st in defensive rating since the calendar flipped over to 2022. The Hawks also rank 14th in rebounding percentage and give up the fourth-most assists per game.
That means Siakam could be in for another well-rounded performance. His points + rebounds + assists Over/Under is on the board at 34.5 and he has gone over this number 12 times over his last 18 games.
Pick: Under 215.5 (-110)
Pick: Pascal Siakaim Over 34.5 points + rebounds + assists (-110)
