Suns vs Kings Prediction, Picks, and Odds for Tonight’s NBA Game

Although the Phoenix Suns will be taking the floor without Kevin Durant tonight, we expect the Suns' abundance of depth to take control and keep this one close against Sacramento.

The Phoenix Suns are cooking, improving to 9-2 with a win over the Utah Jazz on Tuesday.

Although they will be without the services of Kevin Durant when they take on the Sacramento Kings tonight, my Suns vs. Kings predictions expect the rest of the roster to pick up the slack as notable road dogs.

Suns vs Kings prediction

My best bet
Suns +8 (-110 at bet365)

My analysis

The Sacramento Kings are playing this one without a key offensive contributor in Malik Monk, and we saw his absence haunt the Kings in Monday’s loss to the Spurs.

Sacramento struggled to shoot the ball, hitting on just 26.3% of its threes, and it was demolished on the boards by a strong frontcourt that limited the Kings to mid-range looks and heavily contested 3-pointers.

The Phoenix Suns are a team that profiles very similarly. It ranks sixth in defensive rebounding rate and ranks 11th in rim defense, something that will test a Kings team that likes to operate inside the arc and run the offense through the hands of Domantas Sabonis.

The Suns have defended both the mid-range and rim with excellence, and despite missing Kevin Durant and potentially Jusuf Nurkic, there’s enough here for me to question this hefty line. The Kings’ offense didn’t do enough to inspire confidence against the Spurs on Monday, and the Suns can still lean on the defense of Tyus Jones to keep De’Aaron Fox at bay — as well as rely on the contributions of veteran center Mason Plumlee inside.

Phoenix has looked the part of an acceptable offense without Durant, pushing Sacramento to overtime without him just a few games ago. These lineups are pretty evenly matched, and the Suns’ depth can’t be overlooked.

Suns vs Kings same-game parlay

Suns +8.5

Bradley Beal 3+ threes

DeMar DeRozan Over 23.5 points

Bradley Beal has taken a total of 17 shots from deep in two games without Durant, and the star guard has now taken seven or more in his last three contests, which puts him in an excellent position on Wednesday against a Kings team ranking just 25th in defending the 3-pointer according to Cleaning the Glass.

Meanwhile, DeMar DeRozan has been driving the Kings' offense this season, putting up 34 points in his latest matchup against the Suns. Boasting 24+ points in five of his last seven contests, he's one member of the Kings who could take advantage of Durant's absence on defense.
