As the Golden State Warriors try to stay above the No. 7 seed and avoid playing in the NBA Play-In Tournament to make the playoffs, they take on a Portland Trail Blazers squad reeling from losses in three straight.

My Trail Blazers vs. Warriors predictions and NBA picks for Monday, March 10 expect Steph Curry & Co. to keep cooking while adding to Portland's misery.

Trail Blazers vs Warriors prediction

My best bet
Warriors -12 (-110 at bet365)

My analysis
The Golden State Warriors have been on a heater as of late. They're 9-1 straight up in their last 10 games — 7-3 against the spread — and they’ve managed to cover in nine of their last 13 games (69.2%).

Their hot play has helped them climb the Western Conference standings, and they should only add to their record tonight against the Portland Trail Blazers, who've failed to cover in three straight games and lost by 36 to Golden State earlier in the season.

As much as the Trail Blazers have improved this year, their offense is still inconsistent under Chauncey Billups. Portland is 24th in points per game with 110.5 and 24th in offensive rating (111.4) behind an attack outside the Top 20 in the league in field goal percentage, 3-point percentage, and free throw percentage.

Portland’s shooting issues will only worsen with third-leading scorer Deni Avdija out for the game with a quad injury. That should help Golden State’s defense lock in on Anfernee Simons and Shaedon Sharpe

Steve Kerr’s team has been impressive defensively this season, ranking eighth in defensive rating (111.9) and allowing the ninth-fewest points per game (111.2) while giving up the 10th-fewest 3-pointers per game and the eighth-fewest 2-pointers.

Even with Brandin Podziemski and Jonathan Kuminga expected to be out, the Warriors shouldn’t have many problems quieting the Trail Blazers offense.

Scoring should also come easy to the Dubs with how well this offense has played since the beginning of February. While Golden State is just 16th in ppg this season (113.3), it's averaging 119.2 points per outing in its last 16.

The addition of Jimmy Butler has also paid off as of late, with the six-time All-Star coming off back-to-back 25+ point outings. He and Steph Curry should push a Blazers defense in the bottom half of the league in field goal percentage allowed, 3-point percentage allowed, and made 2-pointers per game.

Trail Blazers vs Warriors same-game parlay

Warriors -12

Steph Curry Over 28.5 points

Donovan Clingan Over 1.5 blocks

Curry made his name in March while at Davidson, so it’s no surprise the former All-American has been at his best lately. The 11-time All-Star put up 32 and 40 the last two times he was on the hardwood, and he’s only a few games removed from that 56-point outing against the Orlando Magic.

Curry is poised to keep up his madness in March against a Blazers defense allowing the fifth-most points per game to point guards. Speaking of the NCAA Tournament, Donovan Clingan is no stranger to stepping up this month either.

A two-time national champ at UConn, Cling Kong is alive and well as a rim protector. The rookie is averaging 1.5 blocks per game and the Warriors are the sixth-most blocked team per game in the NBA (5.6) with 2.28 of those coming from centers.
