The Toronto Raptors busted out of a brutal 15-game losing run on Friday and get the unfamiliar favorites tag in the latest NBA odds as they host the Washington Wizards tonight.
With R.J. Barrett and Immanuel Quickley back on the court, the Raptors at least look competitive, and they stunned the Bucks two nights ago with a 117-111 road win, led by 31 points from Gary Trent Jr.
The Wizards landed a narrow victory against a depleted Toronto team last month, but I’m expecting a different script here. Washington is coming off a 108-102 loss to the Trail Blazers on Friday despite a double-double from Deni Avdija, and may again be without Kyle Kuzma.

Wizards vs Raptors predictions
My best bet: RJ Barrett Over 22.5 points (-115 at PointsBet)
March was a bleak month in Raptorland, with a collection of backups and G-League prospects unsuccessfully trying to hold down the fort. However, there were positive signs in the shock victory against the Bucks and Toronto has a chance to finish the season on a more positive note.
RJ Barrett is a big reason for that, and he’s primed for another big scoring night here. As one of the focal points in a Toronto Raptors offense missing Scottie Barnes, I love the Over on his scoring prop tonight.
He’s been dominant in both outings since returning to the lineup this week. He had 26 points on Friday in Milwaukee and dropped 28 points on 11-for-18 shooting against the Lakers the game prior.
In fact, Barrett has had 23+ points in eight of his last nine games overall and has been a more efficient scorer since the midseason trade to Toronto, making 55% of his shots from the field, including 42% from downtown.
I don’t see the Washington Wizards putting up much of a fight defensively tonight. They’re allowing 122.7 ppg, the worst mark in the NBA, and Barrett will have his pick of mismatches. I’m counting on him to take full advantage.
Wizards vs Raptors same-game parlay
The Raptors have lost eight in a row at Scotiabank Arena, but this is a golden chance to snap that run and I feel surprisingly good about laying the points with the hosts.
After all, Washington is 8-30 on the road this season and Toronto has won four of the past five meetings. Though the Raptors are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 outings, they’ve got much more upside with Barrett, Quickley, and Ochai Agbaji all available again.
I’m also taking a Quickley prop for my SGP, with the point guard also benefitting from extra touches — and in line for more shots if Trent Jr. (questionable) is ruled out with an illness.
He's making 39% of his 3-pointers since arriving in Toronto, and he’s got a neon green light to let fly from deep.

Wizards vs Raptors spread and Over/Under analysis
- The Raptors enter as 4.5-point favorites against a Wizards team that’s lost five of their past six games and sits at a miserable 15-63 this season.
- The hosts have some breathing room in the standings as they look to hang onto their Top-6 protected first-round pick, so there’s every reason to chase a victory here.
- The Under has been a winning ticket in eight of the past 10 meetings between these teams, and it’s 6-4 in Toronto’s last 10 outings. It's also hit in 18 of the Raptors’ last 26 home games.
- With both teams likely to have some fringe NBA players coming off the bench, the 231.5 line feels a little high, especially with both Trent Jr. and Kuzma on the injury report.
