My analysis
With Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic still sidelined, someone’s got to step up for the Dallas Mavericks, and that someone is going to be Quentin Grimes again tonight.
Across his last three, Grimes has averaged 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and six assists. He’s hit the Over in two of those, most recently erupting for 23/9/6. Grimes’ usage has increased from 18.5 to 24.4, second only to PJ Washington’s 24.9.
Grimes’ streak of great play extends beyond the current heater, averaging 27.1 PRAs and hitting the Over on this line four times.
He averaged exactly 24 PRAs across three matchups with the Portland Trail Blazers this season, hitting the Over twice. His season-high 28 points came on December 1 against Portland.
The Trail Blazers sport the fifth-worst defensive rating in the NBA, and the matchup will be particularly favorable for Grimes. Portland has allowed opposing SGs to average 35.8 PRAs this season.
Grimes is second in usage and scoring and leads the team in assists across the last three outings. This is a great opportunity for him to continue his excellent efforts and hit the Over.
