Who will win North Alabama vs Lipscomb?
Lipscomb hasn’t had much resistance for over a month. Besides a loss to Eastern Kentucky, the Bisons had won seven of nine by at least 13 points.
I think the spread discredits the surging Lions (more on that below), but Lipscomb should have enough to advance to the NCAA Tournament.

My analysis
The North Alabama Lions booked a trip to the tournament final with a convincing 78-63 win over the Jacksonville Dolphins. This Lions defense was a beast, forcing Jacksonville to shoot 36.2% from the field, including a rough 7-for-22 from 3-point range.
The tournament’s No. 2 seed, North Alabama has been mowing down competition down the home stretch, with 10 wins in their last 11, winning by double digits nine times. Their only loss during that stretch was to their opponent in Sunday’s final, the top-seeded Lipscomb Bisons.
The Bisons will be looking for their fourth trip to the NCAA Tournament, most recently punching their ticket in the 2023 season. Like UNA, the Bisons have ripped off 10 wins over its last 11, but they were close to getting bounced in Thursday’s semifinal, eventually outlasting Queens University in overtime.
Queens did work by attacking the glass, pulling down 17 offensive rebounds and forcing 13 turnovers. That helped them attempt 25 more field goal attempts than Lipscomb. That could be a formula North Alabama can replicate: this is the top rebounding team in the ASUN that ranks third (above Queens) in offensive rebounding at 12.2 per contest.
The margins will likely be where this is settled, as these teams are so evenly matched. Both schools rank in the Top 3 in scoring offense and defense, and no team has been able to string together two wins in a row in this head-to-head over the last 10.
North Alabama has an identical 24-9 overall record and 14-4 conference record with the Bisons, though they led the ASUN with the best record against the spread, going 22-11. Lispcomb was in the middle of the pack, going 15-15-1 ATS.
With so much on the line, and two teams that look evenly matched, those extra points you’re getting should be the difference.
