I’ve just put together a brand-new slogan for the Wildcats: “Arizona football… not terrible!” Sure, the Cats have now lost eight straight games going back to last season, but they showed some fight last weekend against USC and could be on the cusp of finally getting that long-awaited victory.
While I don’t see anyone getting behind my slogan, just maybe we can get behind the Wildcats giving the Huskies a game on Saturday, but they’ll have to do it as significant underdogs.
Let’s take a look at our college football free picks and predictions for Arizona at Washington, with kickoff scheduled to get underway on November 21 at 8:00 ET.

Against the Spread (ATS) Pick
Once again, USC escaped with a last-minute win on Saturday, and this time the poor Wildcats were the victim, falling 34-30. Still, there were positives for a team that could certainly use them. Quarterback Grant Gunnell put up 286 yards passing and three touchdowns, with Tayvian Cunningham racking up 100 receiving yards. The Wildcats brought in Paul Rhoads to fix the defense and it’s still clearly a work in progress, with Arizona surrendering 500 yards to the Trojans.
Washington is 1-0 under new head coach Jimmy Lake, holding Oregon State scoreless in the second half, and giving the Huskies a 27-20 victory. Freshman quarterback Dylan Morris was put squarely in the role of game manager, going 14-24 for 141 yards, but you can’t argue with the result. Defensively, the Huskies were led by linebacker Edefuan Ulofoshio and his ten tackles.
I can’t blame anyone for avoiding the Wildcats at every turn based on their losing skid, but there is something to be said for showing well against a much more talented Trojans squad. The Huskies are not explosive on offense, given their freshman quarterback, and laying double-digits seems far too many against an Arizona team that is actually improving.
PREDICTION: Arizona +11.5 (-110)
Over/Under Pick
The Wildcats giving up so much yardage to the Trojans is a bit concerning, but this Huskies team isn’t nearly as talented on offense, so there should be fewer big plays.
Washington wants to control this game on the ground, and the Under is 5-0 in Huskies last games overall.
PREDICTION: Under 53.5 (-110)
Team Total Pick
I liked what I saw from the Wildcats against USC, especially on offense. Gunnell is a talented sophomore who should only improve, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him have a breakout game and push Arizona’s team total past the number.
In the meantime, I’ll get to work on a new slogan.
PREDICTION: Arizona team total Over 20.5 (+100)
