Listen, I’m just a guy who loves college football betting, and I never played the sport. So far be it from me to send out any criticism. However, I’ve always wondered something. When you have a successful season and win your bowl game, players love showing off their championship rings.
But what sort of reaction would you get if someone noticed your bling and said, “Hey, that’s a sweet ring. What’s it from?”
“We won the Cheez-It Bowl.”
“Is that like a competitive eating thing, or what?”
“Uh, no. Nevermind.”
Here’s a look at our best college football free picks and predictions for Oklahoma State at No. 18 Miami. Kickoff is scheduled for Tuesday, December 29 at 5:30 ET.

Against the Spread (ATS) Pick
The Oklahoma State Cowboys made a strong run at the Big 12 title before eventually falling short. However, Mike Gundy’s squad still cobbled together a solid 7-3 record and is coming off a 42-3 drubbing of Baylor back on December 12. Quarterback Spencer Sanders had a strong outing versus the Bears, throwing for 347 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. And that’s the story of Sanders as a signal-caller. He’ll have his moments, but he’s also prone to a mistake or two. Star running back Chuba Hubbard is out for the season, but LD Brown has rushed for 395 yards this year and is a capable backup.
The Canes were supposed to storm into this matchup after a win against North Carolina. Instead, Miami was outclassed from the start, losing 62-26 in a game that saw Tar Heels football coach Mack Brown put a licking on Hurricanes coach Manny Diaz, who once served as Brown’s defensive coordinator at Texas. Quarterback D’Eriq King was an early-season candidate for the Heisman Trophy and converted 18 of 30 passes for 239 yards and two scores last time out. He can be one of the most exciting players in the country, but he needs more help from a defense that was torched for 778 yards.
This line feels like a perfect example of recency bias. Miami is much better than what we saw against North Carolina, and the Canes will prove it with an outright win.

Over/Under Pick
This is another number that appears to be inflated based on the Tar Heels’ treating the Hurricanes like a Pop Warner team. Toss that game out. The Hurricanes should have an easier time with the Pokes since Hubbard is done for the year. The Under is 6-0 in Oklahoma State’s last six bowl games, and the Cowboys allowed only 21.9 points per game this season. According to my calculations, that’s the equivalent of 642.8 Cheez-Its.
PREDICTION: Under 58.5 (-110)
Cheez-It Bowl: Oklahoma State vs Miami Betting Card
- Miami +2.0 (-110)
