What a fall from grace it's been for the Orange. 'Cuse started the year looking dangerous and undefeated, culminating with a road win at Purdue. Then Clemson came to town and won, and destruction followed a week later when North Carolina beat the Orange 40-7.

Meanwhile, the Seminoles look College Football Playoff-bound. Florida State has started undefeated and looked as good as anyone in the country, most recently coming off an impressive 39-17 conference win against Virginia Tech.

"I'm not going to enjoy watching him play," said Syracuse head coach Dino Babers regarding Jordan Travis. 

And who could blame him? After all, the Florida State quarterback was about as efficient as it gets when these two teams faced off last season. In that contest, Travis finished completing 21 of 23 passes for three touchdowns and 155 yards in a runaway victory for the Noles'.

Not a ton has changed to make you think the Orange will have much success slowing Travis this season.

The Orange's last two losses have seen them allow over 70 points combined to North Carolina and Clemson. The aerial assault against the Orange defense has been a massive part of that. Last week, the Heels scored touchdowns on three of its first four drives, and QB Drake Maye did whatever he wanted en route to a 442-yard, three-touchdown performance. The week before, it was Clemson QB Cade Klubnik's turn when he had the best game of his season, throwing for 263 yards and two touchdowns. 

Both pass throwers went over their season average in yards per throw, and a large part of that was because of the issues Syracuse faces when tackling in open space. Now Travis gets a crack at a defense that has ranked near the bottom of the ACC in defensive EPA.

If there's a discussion about the top QB in the ACC, there's little doubt when it comes to the finest WR group: Florida State. Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson are undoubtedly NFL-bound talents, and there's a solid supporting cast of college football receivers alongside them.

If Syracuse faces the same challenges with open-field tackling against this unit as it has in the past two weeks, then Travis should have no trouble eclipsing his touchdown passing total.

This Syracuse team is in a freefall, and North Carolina's offense took center stage from the first whistle last week and dominated the Orange. Now they get an offense that is just as high-powered, as Florida State arrives at this game ranking 13th in the country in EPA per passing play. 

The total opened at 55.5 and has seen minimum movement throughout. It's likely dependent on game flow; if Syracuse can keep this close, Florida State will pass more and stretch that defense. However, if it can't, there are some scenarios where the Noles could have a quick early barrage and milk the clock afterward.

It is worth noting that Florida State has been on a decent strong trend of Overs. Seven of its last 10 games have gone Over, including three straight games to start the season.
