It is no secret that there's been a lot of news surrounding the Boston Bruins over past week, but the only thing on the players' minds is the game against the Blues tonight in a rematch of the 2019 Stanley Cup Final.

The Blues are by no means a confident group right now since they have not won a game since October 24 and are currently on a six-game losing streak.

The Bruins have been playing some incredible hockey, but saw their seven-game win streak come to an end last time out. As I break down in my NHL picks and predictions below, I expect them to be hungry to get back in the win column tonight.

Blues vs Bruins best odds

Blues vs Bruins picks and predictions

I can honestly say I have no idea what happened to the St. Louis Blues but they have completely fallen apart here early on in the season. They looked amazing in their first three games of the season — winning all three — but since then, it's been all downhill.

Luckily for the Blues, they have had a couple of extra days rest, but they need to figure out their problems and they need to do it fast. As of now, I’d say the biggest issue is their league-worst offensive production.

The Blues are averaging 2.33 goals per game with a 46.09% expected goals, but the weirdest thing about this team offensively is that their power play has been clicking just fine at a 25% conversion rate.

Getting away from the Blues a bit, the Boston Bruins should be able to exploit their weak goaltending. They have allowed 17 goals in their last three games and the Bruins who are boasting a league’s best 4.17 goals per game should be able to finish on their opportunities tonight.

I think that Boston will have full control for sixty minutes tonight since almost every category is in its favor. This is one of the best teams in the league at limiting their opponents' chances, which screams trouble for the Blues and on the flip side, the Blues are one of the worst teams in their defensive zone. The Bruins will easily take advantage.

I’m very confident in the Bruins right now and I don’t think that the outside noise is going to affect them much. Back them to win in regulation.

My best bet: Bruins 3-way moneyline (-120 at BetMGM)

Blues vs Bruins moneyline analysis

If you just take a look at some of the numbers, it would appear that the St. Louis Blues don’t stand a chance in this matchup tonight.

For starters, the Bruins are sporting a 6-0-0 record on home ice, making them the only team in the NHL that hasn’t lost at home yet. They are playing fantastically on both sides of the puck right now... not only are they the best offensive team in the league, but they also have the best penalty kill (92.9% success rate).

Linus Ullmark has been lights out in the blue paint for the B’s and has arguably been the best goalie in the NHL this season. He is leading the way with an 8-1-0 record, a .929 save percentage, and a 2.16 goals-against average, while boasting a +4.0 GSAx.

With the strength of the Bruins' defense and goaltending, along with the Blues' offensive struggles, I don’t see St. Louis winning this game in any scenario.

Blues vs Bruins Over/Under analysis

The Boston Bruins have been a defensive machine and all signs point toward the Blues struggling to score goals tonight.

They have only scored ten goals in their previous five games and Boston is the second-best team in the league when it comes to allowing scoring chances and are only giving up 2.50 goals per game.

If there’s going to be goal-scoring in this game, I expect it to be very one-sided, but with that being said, the B’s offense didn’t have their best showing in their last game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. They only had 21 shots on goal, only being able to finish once.

The Under seems to be a trend between these two teams when they meet in Boston, considering it is 4-0-1 in the last five meetings. On that note, I don’t think the Blues will be able to get much going tonight and as such, am leaning towards the Under.
