The New Jersey Devils finally got back in the win column after beating the Panthers on Wednesday night to put an end to their six-game losing streak.
The Boston Bruins enter this game continuing their strong season. They had a great come-from-behind win last night after going down 2-0 to the Jets, eventually winning 3-2.
This has all of the ingredients to be an absolute barn burner and it should be a very fun game between two incredible teams. Get set for puck drop with our NHL picks for the Devils vs. Bruins.
Bruins vs Devils best odds
Bruins vs Devils picks and predictions
The New Jersey Devils and Boston Bruins have been two of the best teams in the league all season long. Even though the Devils haven’t been winning as much lately, they have still been playing well, they just weren’t getting the bounces in their favor. All of that changed on Wednesday night when they came back from being down 2-1 in the third period against the Florida Panthers to win the game 4-2.
Speaking of puck luck, the Bruins have had it going their way basically all season. Nothing seems to be going wrong for this team, but they are going to be tested tonight against the Devils.
If there has been one team that has been as close to as impressive as the Bruins this season, it is the Devils. New Jersey has been outstanding on both ends of the ice this season, currently skating to the eighth-highest goals for per-game average (3.39) and the third-lowest goals against per game (2.52).
It’s going to be a very good goaltending battle between Vitek Vanecek for the Devils and Linus Ullmark for the Bruins. There is no denying how good Ullmark has been for Boston, but Vanecek has been pretty damn impressive himself. He enters this game skating to a 12-4-2 record while boasting a .908 save percentage and a 2.45 goals against average.
The Devils are currently skating to a 3.68 xGF/60 while the Bruins are at a 3.41 xGF/60. This is a game the Devils can win as a home dog.

Bruins vs Devils moneyline analysis
If this game were being played in Boston, I would feel a lot different about the outcome, but because the Devils are home and the fact that the Bruins played last night, this feels like a game that the Devils can take from them.
These two teams haven’t met yet this season, so it’s hard to judge how they might go up against each other, but in my mind, the closest team to Boston’s success this season has been New Jersey. The Devils have very strong goaltending and an explosive group of forward along with a strong blue line.
Jack Hughes is on a four-game point streak and has been lighting it up all season for the Devils, carrying them offensively along with the help from Nico Hischier and Jesper Bratt.
I am not overlooking the Bruins, they have been the best team in the league this season, but I do happen to think that the Devils are very good themselves. With just as much team speed, they could take advantage of the Bs on the back-to-back.
Bruins vs Devils Over/Under analysis
On one hand, you have two of the best offensive teams in the NHL, but on the other hand, you also have two of the best defensive teams in the league, as well as very strong goaltending.
Since it’s the first meeting of the season, there will be some sort of a feeling-out process in this game as both teams might be a little cautious defensively knowing how dangerous one another is in the offensive end.
I’m even more interested in this goalie matchup between Vanecek and Ullmark. Both have been able to steal games this season and that could be the case in this matchup as they know that they have to be at their best tonight.
There is a ton of offensive talent on both sides, but I’m thinking with the strength of both blue lines and goalies, this game goes Under.
