My Canadiens pick
Kirby Dach Over 0.5 points (-105 at BET99)

My Canadiens analysis

Top-line life has been good to Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach. He’s been jumping the boards with go-to scorers Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield the past three games, and Dach has piled up a goal and three assists while hitting the scoresheet each time.

The trio has clicked for 5.34 goals per 60 minutes while tilting the ice in their favor with a 52.2 Corsi For percentage and 55.9% shot share at 5-on-5, and they’re up to 8.01 goals per 60 when including power-play time.

It’s easy to forget Dach was always pegged for a go-to scoring role when drafted third overall in 2019. Injuries slowed his offensive development at the highest level, but his skating ability, vision, and creativity have always been on full display.

Dach clicking with Suzuki and Caufield isn’t surprising and he hasn’t just been a passenger, with two of his three discussed assists being primary helpers. He’s also generated solid per 60 numbers with 10.67 shots, 15.41 attempts, and 0.93 expected goals during the noted three-game stretch.

The Seattle Kraken haven’t been an opponent to avoid, either.

Seattle sports a 20th-ranked 48.6 CF% and 48.74 xGF% at 5-on-5, and they’ve surrendered 3.11 goals per game with a 76.9 penalty-kill percentage.

Dach will have opportunities to pad the points column again tonight.

Canadiens vs Kraken same-game parlay (SGP)

Kirby Dach Over 0.5 points

Kirby Dach Over 1.5 shots

Nick Suzuki Over 0.5 points

As noted, Dach has shown an uptick in shot volume, with his highlighted 10.67 shots and 15.41 attempts per 60 the past three games well above his 7.59 and 9.84 marks to start the year. He’s also recorded two or more shots in five of nine games for the year.

Turning to Suzuki, he’s pacing the Canadiens in points per 60 (3.72) while also leading all Montreal forwards in ice time. The Habs captain has also marked the scoresheet in seven consecutive games to the tune of three tallies and eight helpers.
