Tuesday’s NHL nightcap features a Pacific Division tilt with the Vegas Golden Knights hosting the Vancouver Canucks. NHL odds have Vegas as a moderate –130 favorite while the total sits at 5.5.
The Knights have held the edge in this matchup over the past half-decade, winning 12 of the past 20 meetings. Nine of those 12 wins came by at least a two-goal differential.

Canucks vs Golden Knights predictions
Just like last season, the Vegas Golden Knights are starting to peak at the right time, winning eight of their past 11 games. Five of those eight wins have come by at least a two-goal margin, a trend that exists due to a couple of variables.
First, goaltender Logan Thompson has seen the puck extremely well, and he's slated to guard the cage once again for the Knights. Thompson has now allowed just one goal in six straight appearances between the pipes, posting a commanding 5-0 record with a .962 SV% and 1.13 GAA.
Vegas won four of those six games by at least a two-goal differential. Now, it certainly helps Thompson’s cause that he plays behind one of the most efficient offenses in the league.
At 5-on-5, the Golden Knights rank 10th in expected goals for per 60 minutes (xGF/60). Comparatively, the Vancouver Canucks rank in the bottom half of the league in the same category.
The Knights also boast the edge in net as Casey DeSmith is projected to start across the ice from Thompson. The latter clears DeSmith in pretty much every category across the board: wins, SV% and GAA.
With home ice, the better goaltender and a dangerous offense, I think there is more value in backing Vegas on the puck line at +180 rather than at –135 on the moneyline.
My best bet: Golden Knights -1.5 (+180 at SIA)
Canucks vs Golden Knights same-game parlay
If I'm backing Vegas to win by at least two goals, then I obviously need its best scorers to find the back of the net. Enter Jack Eichel.
Eichel arrives at this contest in fantastic form, scoring nine goals over his past 16 games. He's always a threat to score at even-strength, but he also leads the Knights in power play goals.
That is noteworthy for this game as Vancouver ranks in the bottom half of the league in both penalty minutes taken per game and penalty kill percentage. Finally, we just saw Eichel score against the Canucks in November, a game in which the Golden Knights won 4-1.
