Finland vs Sweden prop picks and best bets
Adrian Kempe 4+ shots on goal (+162 at FanDuel)
Sweden may have lost an overtime heartbreaker to Canada on Wednesday night, but Adrian Kempe impressed. The Los Angeles Kings star was creating havoc all game long and ultimately finished with a goal and five shots on target.
That’s not exactly a surprise, either. Kempe is the Kings’ best player, leading the team with 25 goals and 21 assists this season. He averages 3.07 shots on goal per game for Los Angeles and will be relied upon to do damage for the Swedes in the 4 Nations.
While 4+ shots may feel like a risky bet, the 28-year-old just put in work against a phenomenal Canada blue line anchored by Cale Makar. Kempe now will face a Finland squad who just got waxed 6-1 by Team USA and gave up five goals in the final 23 minutes.
I have no doubt Kempe will make his presence felt again versus a much weaker defensive opponent than the Canadians.
William Nylander anytime goalscorer (+200 at sportsbook)
William Nylander is also having a phenomenal NHL season in Toronto. The veteran is leading the Maple Leafs with 33 goals while also tallying 22 assists. In fact, he’s second in the league in scoring, behind only Leon Draisaitl.
That being said, you better believe Nylander will be producing for his country.
The 28-year-old had two shots on target against Canada and looked dangerous at times. While his early penalty cost Sweden a goal 56 seconds in, Nylander still put together a respectable performance.
It wasn’t his best by any means, but with the Swedes in need of a victory, I believe their best player will step up and make some noise against Finland’s blue line. He’ll be hungry to respond after failing to register a point on Wednesday.
Aleksander Barkov 3+ shots on goal (+175 at FanDuel)
Aleksander Barkov is another fantastic player in this tournament and one of Finland’s most dangerous weapons. The Florida Panthers center had eight shots across his last two games before the 4 Nations break and kept it up on Thursday against the United States, registering five shots on goal in the tough defeat.
The 29-year-old is averaging 2.25 SOG this season for the defending Stanley Cup champs and will continue to have all the opportunity to shine for a Finland group that isn’t expected to be a contender for the title in this event.
Sweden also showed some vulnerability defensively against Canada. I think Barkov could have an impressive contest on Saturday.
