Best NHL Player Props Today for Feb. 7: Donato Gets It Done

Ryan Donato has recently gotten a boost in minutes and is playing a disinterested Predators team. His shots on goal prop is offering value, per Josh Inglis' Friday night NHL betting picks.

It was a forgettable Thursday slate but the attention turns to Friday’s five-game board, which consists of teams ramping up for a long vacation with the two-week break around the corner.

These are my three favorite NHL player props for Friday, February 7.

NHL prop picks and best bets for February 7

Today’s NHL prop picks and best bets

Ryan Donato Over 2.5 shots on goal (+140 at bet365)

Ryan Donato got the promotion to the top line with Connor Bedard and produced on Wednesday with a goal and an assist while also leading the team with eight shot attempts and getting four of those on the net.

Donato leads all Chicago Blackhawks in shot attempts/60 and SOG/60. His shooting markets are priced to a role where he plays 15 minutes or fewer and not taking into account his bigger role.

Nashville might be waving the white flag after its fifth straight loss. They are +2200 to make the playoffs and have given up 73 total shots over its last two games. Donato will be shooting again tonight and this price should be +110/+115.

Tony DeAngelo Over 0.5 assists (+175 at BetMGM)

The New Iork Islanders are gutted on the blue line. They are without Noah Dobson and Ryan Pulock, and now Scott Mayfield is headed to IR.

Tony DeAngelo was already playing huge minutes since coming over from Russia and will be asked to log 26+ minutes yet again with the Islanders winning and posting the No. 3 point percentage over the last 30 days.

In his six games with his new club, he has four points and an assist in two straight games. A key to getting this prop is the price as Pinnacle is a market-low +145. His Over 0.5 points is +140 at bet365, which shows the price discrepancy across books. I’d buy this prop at +160/+165.

DeAngelo is an offensive D-man who might play half of this game. There might not be a lot of scoring with both teams going with their best goalies, but this rearguard is going to be on the ice almost every other shift with the injuries the Islanders are dealing with.

Penguins team total Under 2.5 (-120 at bet365)

It’s ugly for the Pittsburgh Penguins. They are closer to the bottom-feeders than the playoff hopefuls, have been without Evgeni Malkin, and now Sidney Crosby has been ruled out.

Crosby is dealing with an upper-body injury and practiced alone on Thursday, which is not a good indicator of his availability today. That would give the Pens two awful lines in their top six with a huge drop in skill at center.

Igor Shesterkin has been up and down but the New York Rangers are feeling good after a couple of wins and the JT Miller trade while the Pens are playing in Philadelphia again tomorrow, so this could be a dud.
