Jets vs Rangers Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NHL Game

The Jets have been virtually unbeatable at home and as Connor Hellebuyck continues his domination between the pipes, the Rangers won't play spoiler.

The Winnipeg Jets and star goalie Connor Hellebuyck have been next to automatic at the Canada Life Centre this season, and they host the New York Rangers on Tuesday, March 11.

New York has dropped three straight and fallen out of a wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, while Winnipeg is tied for the NHL lead with 95 points.

My top Rangers vs. Jets predictions and NHL picks are calling for Winnipeg to send New York packing with a fourth consecutive loss.

My Jets analysis

This is just the third home game out of the 4 Nations Face-Off for the Winnipeg Jets, and they’ve gone a respectable 5-3-1 out of the break. The return to the Canada Life Centre will be welcomed because Winnipeg has soared to a 23-5-4 record on home ice with a plus-50 goal differential.

Jets No. 1 goalie Connor Hellebuyck has also been even better at the Canada Life Centre with a dominant .932 save percentage and 1.80 GAA to help him pace the NHL in both statistics and pull away as the clear betting favorite in the Vezina Trophy odds.

In the opposite crease, New York Rangers starter Igor Shesterkin is sporting a career-worst .905 Sv% and 2.89 GAA, and his underlying .565 quality-start percentage, 5.4 goals saved above average and 3.09 adjusted GAA are also his poorest numbers through six NHL seasons.

Additionally, the Rangers have lost three straight while allowing 14 goals. Along with poor goaltending, the loss of No. 1 defenseman Adam Fox (upper body) is beginning to take its toll.

New York sports a 47.9 Corsi For percentage, 35.3 goals percentage, and 47.5 expected goals percentage in front of a dismal .836 team save percentage at 5-on-5 during the losing streak.

It’s not the recipe for success against the Jets, and I don’t expect the Blueshirts blueline to hold up on the highway against the relentless Winnipeg attack.

Jets vs Rangers odds analysis

There has been a small move to the Winnipeg side of this moneyline at Pinnacle. While the opening Jets -175 has only crept to -183, it’s a meaningful adjustment because of how much vig was already attached to the Winnipeg side. The Rangers have the star power to pull off the upset, but there are holes throughout the lineup, and Shesterkin hasn’t been at his best this season.

This total hasn’t seen a meaningful adjustment to the opening 6.0 at Pinnacle. I lean to the Under, but the Rangers have gone Over the number in 27 of their last 47 away games (+7.30 Units / 14% ROI). Additionally, as highlighted, New York has been allowing goals in bunches.
