Oilers vs Sharks prediction

My Oilers pick: Connor McDavid Over 1.5 points (-142 at BET99)

My Oilers analysis
Betting Connor McDavid to rack up multiple points is usually a pretty smart play, but it feels especially safe against tonight’s opponent, the San Jose Sharks.

The Sharks have shown some fight and offensive improvement down the stretch with young stars like Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith lighting up the score sheet, but they continue to flounder in their own zone.

Since the start of their losing skid on March 29, San Jose has allowed a league-worst 5.14 goals per game while the club is coming off an 8-7 overtime loss to the Minnesota Wild.

Their expected starter, Alexandar Georgiev, owns a brutal .872 SV% this season and has been even worse during the losing streak, posting an .832 SV% and a bloated 5.83 GAA.

McDavid looked sharp against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday in his first game back in nearly three weeks with three assists in over 20 minutes of ice time.

The Edmonton Oilers captain has tallied multiple points in six of his last 10 appearances and racked up three assists during his only prior meeting against the Sharks this season on December 21.

Oilers vs Sharks same-game parlay (SGP)

Connor McDavid Over 1.5 points

Macklin Celebrini Over 0.5 points

Under 7.5

Macklin Celebrini is fresh off the best game of his young career after putting up three goals and five points against the Wild. The Sharks rookie has found the score sheet in four straight games and 14 of his last 21 since the NHL returned from the 4 Nations Face-Off.

While the Sharks are susceptible to defensive implosions, their games have only gone Over 7.5 thrice in their last 14 contests.

Meanwhile, the Oilers have locked it down defensively, hitting the Under in five of their last six. Edmonton also hasn’t scored more than four goals in a game in eight straight and hasn’t seen its game total go Over 7.5 during that span either.
