Brandon Montour has been a welcome addition to the Seattle Kraken blueline, and I expect the defenseman's abundance of ice time to pay off on the scoresheet in Nashville.

Today’s NHL prop picks and best bets
Prop bet #1: Brandon Montour Over 0.5 points
Brandon Montour has been enjoying his time with his new club. The Seattle Kraken defenseman is receiving 25 minutes of ice time a game, pouring shots on net with 13 over three games, and has moved up to the top power-play unit.
He has just one point on the season but is coming off a game where he logged 4:36 on the power play in a 2-0 loss to the Stars. Today, Montour faces a much easier matchup on the road against the Nashville Predators, who are 0-2 straight up.
While Nashville has been doing a good job limiting shots, a +130 price for a player on PP1 and playing 25 minutes per game is tough to pass up. +450 for a power-play point from Montour is also worth a look.
Prop bet #2: Yegor Chinakov Over 0.5 points
Although the Columbus Blue Jackets are not a deep team, they are getting production from a top line that features Sean Monahan, Kirill Marchenko, and Yegor Chinakov. The trio have totaled 10 points through two games, and Monahan and Chinakov are playing close to 20 minutes a game.
It might not seem ideal to back some Blue Jackets’ overs, but they’ll be up against the Florida Panthers, who are coming off a big 4-3 win in Boston yesterday. Florida could be in a prime letdown spot here, with the Panthers priced at just -155 on the moneyline. Columbus will likely face Spencer Knight in net, and the backup has only played one game this season, where he allowed four goals on 26 shots to a listless Sabres offense.
Chinakov is the skater I'm targeting considering his points prop is sitting at +110 — the highest of the three. The Russian winger has tallied a goal and three assists to start the season, with two of those coming on the power play. He’s also getting 22% of his shifts starting in the offensive zone and logging a 33% time-on-ice share. The entire line to record a point tonight is sitting around +475.
Prop bet #3: Jordan Kyrou Over 0.5 points
Jordan Kyrou is a Top-6 skater with PP1 ice time and boasts three straight multi-point games to open the season for the St. Louis Blues.
The star forward saw over 20 minutes of ice time in his last game, and he remains the best scorer on this team. I'm confused as to why books are unwilling to adjust a point price for a guy who was a point-per-game skater in both 2021 and 2022.
Considering it's also St. Louis' home opener, the building should be rocking. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Wild have given up nine goals over three games, and their PK has managed to kill just four of seven penalties. I'd buy this to -145, and Kyrou to record 2+ points at +350 is also a potential play.
