It’s a seven-game slate tonight on the ice, and the line stacks are still cashing.

But outside of the best bets in hockey, there are still plenty of other NHL player props angles bettors should be looking at tonight. It could be an evening with lots of dogs making noise, and potentially some high-scoring games.

These are my three favorite prop picks for Wednesday, October 30.

Today’s NHL prop picks and best bets

Prop bet #1: Jets team total Over 3.5

+110 at DraftKings

The Winnipeg Jets’ offense has a great matchup today vs. the Detroit Red Wings today as Winnipeg is scoring 4.44 goals per game (second) and has the league’s No. 1 power play that is scoring at 44%. That could prove the difference vs. the Red Wings, who own a penalty kill that ranks 30th in the league at 66% and has allowed nine power-play goals over the last seven games.

The Jets are also coming off a 6-4 loss to the Leafs — their first of the season. This is an offense that has scored four or more goals in five of their last six games.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Winnipeg dominated the time of possession today as the Wings have been outshot by an average of 15.2 shots per game over their last five matches. That number is astounding and the No. 1 team in hockey will take advantage of that on the road in a get-right game for the Jets.

Prop bet #2: Pavel Dorofeyev + Tomas Hertl Over 0.5 points each

+280 at DraftKings

The Vegas Golden Knights have the best offense in hockey at 4.7 goals per match and face a Los Angeles Kings team that is on the second game of a back-to-back after losing in poor fashion last night to the Sharks, 4-2.

The Eichel/Stone pair has been racking up points this season, but on the road without the last change and facing a team with good defensive centers, my NHL picks are betting on the second line of Pavel Dorofeyev and Tomas Hertl to find the score sheet tonight.

The duo is paying +280 to record a point each, and because they also play on the first power-play unit together, the correlation of them pointing on the same goal is strong.

L.A. will start Darcy Kuemper tonight on the second game and that's likely better for the Vegas offense as Kuemper has a 3.30 GAA and a .891 SV% over the last two seasons (37 games played).

Dorofeyev and Hertl have 17 combined points over the team’s 10 games and put up a combined five points just two games ago.

Prop bet #3: Jake Guentzel Over 0.5 assists

+110 at bet365

The Colorado Avalanche are starting their third-string goalie and recent waiver addition Kaapo Kahkonen. It will be his first start with the club that owns the league’s second-worst GAA at 4.10. Kahkonen has put up a 3.75 GAA and a .890 SV% over the last three seasons (74 games played). That is not a small sample.

The Avs will also be playing a defenseman at forward tonight as injuries are piling up on the wing. Colorado lost Ross Colton in its last game.

That all leads to some offense from the top line of the Tampa Bay Lightning with a Jake Guentzel assist being the best value for an Over prop. The first-year TB winger has helpers in five of his nine games and is seeing over 19 minutes of ice time with an average of 3:30 of PP1 ice time.

With Nikita Kucherov putting up over 1.5 points a game already this season, Guentzel is a perfect guy to target tonight for a plus-money assist in a game that I love the Over 6.5.
