Jets vs Blues Prediction, Picks & Odds for Thursday’s NHL Playoffs Game 3

Parker's prediction: Jordan Kyrou rips off as many shots as possible with the Blues in dire need of a win to stay alive. That doesn't mean St. Louis will win, but the effort will be there.

The Winnipeg Jets will look to take a 3-0 series lead over the St. Louis Blues with a road victory at the Enterprise Center on Thursday, April 24.

St. Louis is in a tough spot, and my Jets vs. Blues predictions and top NHL picks expect Winnipeg to take care of business while St. Louis winger Jordan Kyrou also leaves his mark on the Game 3 box score.

Who will win Jets vs Blues Game 3?

The Winnipeg Jets have held the St. Louis Blues to just four goals and 2.76 expected goals through the first two games of the series, and Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck wasn’t even sharp in Game 1, with just 14 saves on 17 shots. I expect the Jets to lean on elite goaltending and timely scoring to take a 3-0 series lead Thursday.

Jets vs Blues prediction

My Jets vs Blues pick: Jordan Kyrou Over 2.5 shots on goal (-125 at BET99)

Blues winger Jordan Kyrou has six shots on nine attempts through the first two games of the series, and he and linemates Brayden Schenn and Jake Neighbours won the possession battle with a 61.5 Corsi For percentage at 5-on-5 in Game 2.

Kyrou paced the Blues in both shots and attempts per 60 minutes during the regular season, including with the man advantage, and he also ranked in the 87th percentile of forwards in shots on goal.

Winnipeg isn’t an easy matchup, and the Blues have been limited to just 39 shots over the past two games. Still, St. Louis is down 0-2 in the series, and playing on home ice should with last change will give head coach Jim Montgomery more opportunities to find favorable in-game matchups for his best players.

Additionally, Kyrou recorded three or more shots in 15 of 25 games to close out the season, and the Blues went 19-4-2. I expect the go-to winger to be looking to put pucks on net early and often in Game 3.

Under 5.5

Jordan Kyrou Over 2.5 shots on goal

The Blues have been held in check with just four goals and 2.76 expected goals through the first two games of the series. I’m expecting their best effort in Game 3, and St. Louis did win the 5-on-5 possession battle in Game 2 with a 56.3 CF%, but Winnipeg has proven to be just too much and will do so again.

I’m also expecting this to be another low-scoring contest after the teams combined for just three goals in Game 2. After all, Winnipeg allowed the fewest goals per game during the regular season, and St. Louis allowed the second-fewest goals per game during its noted 19-4-2 heater to cap off the season.
