The New York Rangers are heading on their west coast Canada trip feeling very good about themselves, as they have won five games in a row and the acquisition of Vladimir Tarasenko seems to be paying off.

Meanwhile, the Vancouver Canucks are coming off a blowout 6-1 home loss against Detroit on Monday night. The Rangers' offense has exploded offensively during this winning streak and they will try to continue with the momentum in this battle against the Canucks who have dropped two in a row.

Rangers vs Canucks picks and predictions

The New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks played a very entertaining game back on February 8th. The Rangers won by the score of 4-3, but it was a relatively evenly played matchup.

In their last five games, the Rangers have scored 25 goals combined. On Monday, Artemi Panarin was the NHL's 1st Star of the Week, tallying four goals and five assists in just four games played. Panarin isn’t the only guy contributing lately, as their top three lines have been absolutely buzzing on the ice.

The Canucks are going through an interesting turnaround right now. They are doing fine offensively, but Vancouver is struggling mightily to keep the puck out of its own net. The Nucks are currently the second-worst defensive team in the NHL, allowing 4.02 goals per game. To make matters worse, they also have the worst penalty kill in the league, killing off infractions at just a 65.4% success rate.

This Rangers' offense has way too much firepower for Vancouver and I think they should maintain control of this game for the entire 60 minutes.

My best bet: Rangers three-way moneyline (-105 at bet365)

Rangers vs Canucks moneyline analysis

The Canucks will be playing their fifth game in the last seven days, while the Rangers have had a nice three days of rest leading into this one.

Neither team has announced a starting goalie yet, but the Rangers have the complete edge in that department. All-Star netminder Igor Shesterkin continues to be one of the best goalies in the league and Jaroslav Halak currently boasts a seven-game winning streak between the posts.

Meanwhile, the Canucks goaltending has been pretty horrendous, as all three of their backstops have a SV% that is below .900, including expected starter Collin Delia (.878).

The Rangers are looking to continue to climb the standings in the Metropolitan division as they are just three points back of the rival Devils. Every game counts for them right now and I love this matchup for them on Wednesday.

Rangers vs Canucks Over/Under analysis

The Rangers and Canucks are both very offensively-minded teams, as both average more than three goals per game. The Over has hit in the Rangers' last four straight games and it's also 3-0-1 in the Canucks last four games against a team with a winning record.

Both of these teams have been involved in a ton of high-scoring affairs lately, and with the way the Rangers are scoring specifically, I think that trend will continue in this game.

Vancouver’s goaltending is horrendous, so the Rangers should be able to easily capitalize. At the same time, this Canucks team can score, so they might be able to put some goals on the board themselves.

I’d go with the Over in this one.
