NHL odds had high expectations for the Buffalo Sabres coming into the season but they've stumbled out of the gate with just four wins through their first nine games... though they picked up an impressive 4-0 victory against the Avalanche in their last outing.
Rasmus Dahlin has been a bright spot with points in eight straight games — helping both his team and those who've been betting on his NHL player props — and he'll look to lead his club to another win when Buffalo visits the Philadelphia Flyers tonight.
Find out if Buffalo can build off that win in my Sabres vs Flyers NHL picks.

Sabres vs Flyers predictions
Rasmus Dahlin odds are sure to be a hot topic for any NHL bettor heading into this matchup.
The Buffalo Sabres picked up their most impressive win of the season on Sunday when they shut out the Avalanche 4-0 in Denver thanks to a 26-save performance from Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. Dahlin led all Sabres skaters with 22:07 of ice time and extended his point streak by netting Buffalo’s fourth goal of the game into the empty net.
Dahlin has now notched a point in eight straight contests — every game except the season opener — and trails only Maple Leafs forward William Nylander (9 GP) and Rangers forward Artemi Panarin (9 GP) for the longest run this year.
The Sabres' defenseman should have plenty of opportunity to extend his streak against the Philadelphia Flyers, who have allowed 3.11 goals per game through their first nine contests (t-15th). Dahlin hasn’t put up a ton of points against Philadelphia in his career with one goal and 10 assists through 19 contests but has found the score sheet vs. the Flyers in four of his last six meetings, with three multi-point outings during that span.
Buffalo’s offense is also heating up with 14 goals scored over its last three games, so I expect Dahlin to pick up at least one point tonight to keep his streak alive.
My best bet: Rasmus Dahlin Over 0.5 points (-150 at DraftKings)

Sabres vs Flyers same-game parlay
My Dahlin prop isn’t available for tonight’s same-game parlay so I’ll shift my attention over to Jeff Skinner odds and a couple of Sabres props.
I’ll look for Buffalo to win the game and score at least four goals for the fourth straight contest. Coming off a big 4-0 win over the Avalanche, the Sabres should be riding high and this matchup is a chance to prove that they’re a step above a non-playoff team like the Flyers.
Lastly, I’ll take Skinner to score at any time in the game. Skinner has 18 goals in 49 career meetings vs Philadelphia — tied for his fourth most against any club. The Sabres forward leads the team with five goals in nine games this season and will have a good chance to add to that total tonight.

Sabres vs Flyers moneyline and Over/Under analysis
Tonight’s contest is a pick‘em as the Sabres (-112) and Flyers (-109) opened at nearly identical odds, with the total set at 6.5 goals. Despite not getting a ton of love from the oddsmakers, I think Buffalo will take this one while cashing the Over.
The Sabres may not have the record to show it, but they've played well against tough competition to start the season, racking up wins against the Lightning, Islanders, Senators, and Avalanche while nearly taking down the Devils in a 5-4 loss last Friday. In theory, they should be able to handle a lesser team like the Flyers. Buffalo has also had a significant upper hand against Philadelphia in recent years — winning six of the last eight meetings.
The Over is also an easy play for me given how these clubs have played each other in the past. The Over has cashed in nine of their last 10 meetings while the teams have combined for at least seven goals in nine of those contests, so I’m anticipating another high-scoring, back-and-forth affair tonight.
