The Winnipeg Jets laid an egg in Game 3 against the St. Louis Blues, getting smacked 7-2 on the scoreboard while being out-chanced for the first time in the series.

My Jets vs. Blues predictions expect the NHL’s top-seeded team to respond with a much better performance in Game 4.

Let’s break down my NHL picks for Sunday, April 27.

Who will win Jets vs Blues Game 4?

The Jets.

They were punched in the mouth in Game 3, but that was expected as the Blues were essentially playing for their season. A 0-3 deficit is almost impossible to come back from against any opponent, let alone the Presidents’ Trophy winners.

Winnipeg was a resilient team all season long, and I expect them to respond with a strong, professional road performance in Game 4.

My Jets vs Blues pick: Jets moneyline (-125 at BET99)

Even without two key players in Nikolaj Ehlers and Gabriel Vilardi, the Winnipeg Jets have been the far superior team during five-on-five play.

They’ve controlled nearly 59% of the expected goals and have allowed an average of just 1.14 per game in that state. They aren’t giving the St. Louis Blues many opportunities.

The gap between the two sides is even larger when factoring in special teams. Winnipeg has generated 9.64 xG while conceding 5.63 xGA, good for an xG share of more than 63%.

Jets netminder Connor Hellebuyck has dealt with his share of playoff struggles in the past, but there’s no reason to expect the Blues to continue scoring on more than 16% of their shots. That’d be a stretch against an AHL-level netminder, let alone the runaway Vezina favorite.

It’s likely Winnipeg gets the better of the chances in this game. With the more productive high-end players and an elite netminder between the pipes, that edge should translate to the scoreboard.

The Jets have won five of seven against the Blues since October, so take them to get back to their game and put the Blues on the brink of elimination.

Jets vs Blues same-game parlay (SGP)

Jets moneyline

Kyle Connor Over 2.5 shots

Jimmy Snuggerud Over 1.5 shots

Kyle Connor leads the Jets in shot attempts, shots on goal, and has logged more minutes than any forward on their roster.

As effective as the Blues have defended for much of the season, Connor still has multiple 11-attempt performances against them. He’s put forth some big shooting performances, which I expect will be the case in Game 4.

Meanwhile, Blues winger Jimmy Snuggerud is a prime candidate to get in on the fun. He ranks third among St. Louis forwards in ice time and has played more than anybody in power-play situations.

Snuggerud has had plenty of shooting opportunities as a result, generating 11 attempts through three games. Unfortunately for him, only three have hit the target.

That on-target rate is almost certainly going to increase as his shooting sample does, especially considering he’s a forward who takes a lot of his shots around the net. Given the workload he’s commanding as a rookie, two SOG is not a whole lot to ask.
