The Florida Swing is in the rearview with the PGA Tour now heading to Memorial Park for the Houston Open.

Tony Finau won this event the last time it was played back in November 2022 and while he's among the secondary contenders again this week, no one's golf odds come close to those of Scottie Scheffler at +275.

Can the World No. 1 for the third time in as many starts? Check out our free golf picks in our Houston Open betting preview below to find out.

Houston Open picks and predictions

Joel Dahmen Top 40 (+135)

Joel Dahman’s game is far from flawless but it certainly doesn’t hurt to be dominating in some crucial areas.

The Full Swing star ranks first in proximity to the hole, eighth in strokes gained approach, and 12th from tee to green on the season and is still trending up after ranking third from tee to green at THE PLAYERS (T11 finish) and third on approach at the Valspar (T49).

That’s the level of ball-striking that’s allowed him to thrive here at Memorial Park. He’s gone T9 and T5 in two tries and gained 5+ true strokes on approach in both.

And while the putting remains the gaping hole in his game (174th this season), it hasn’t held him back here in Houston with ranks of 23rd and 47th in those two starts.

Considering this is -125 at DraftKings, this +135 price at FanDuel is hard to turn down.

Pick: Joel Dahmen Top 40 (+135 at FanDuel)

Mackenzie Hughes Top 40 (+110)

It’s been 18 months since Mackenzie Hughes claimed his second win at the Sanderson Farms but while his stock remains relatively low, there are opportunities to take advantage of decent play.

Considering he’s coming off a third-place finish at Copperhead and has finished T31 or better in seven of his last 10 starts, this is one of those times.

His Houston Open resume also pairs nicely with the recent form. The Canadian finished T7 in 2020 thanks to a final-round 63, finished T29 in 2021, and led the field in putting in a T16 finish a season ago.

Like Dahmen, Hughes is also seeing a huge discrepancy in his Top-40 odds. I’m happy to snag this at +110 when it’s as short as -150 elsewhere.

Pick: Mackenzie Hughes Top 40 (+110 at FanDuel)

Houston Open field and favorites

There's no limit to what Scottie Scheffler can accomplish should he keep putting as he did in his victories at Bay Hill and TPC Sawgrass. His Masters odds have been chopped in half and his odds of winning any given event continue to get shorter and shorter.

This week, the World No. 1 is available as long as +300 and as short as +260. His Memorial Park resume is in line with those numbers too considering he finished runner-up in 2021 and T9 a season ago.

In a distant second is Wyndham Clark at +1,200. After winning at Pebble Beach in February, the reigning U.S. Open champ finished second behind Scheffler at both the Arnold Palmer Invitational and PLAYERS Championship.

Running third is Will Zalatoris, who had a run of quality finishes snapped with a missed weekend at TPC Sawgrass. And despite being a Texas resident, Zalatoris will be making his debut here in Houston with odds of 18/1.

Rounding out the Top 5 are Sahith Theegala (T22 here in 2022) and defending champion Tony Finau at 20/1 and 22/1, respectively.
