Donald Trump is no stranger to attending sporting events over the years, both back when he was just a businessman and reality TV star and now that he’s the Oval Office occupant for the second time. In fact, Trump made two high-profile appearances at sporting events just last month, attending Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans and the 2025 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.
So which sporting event will Trump attend next? Odds are available at the best sports betting sites. The current favorite is the 90th Masters Tournament, set to take place in the middle of April.
Masters set as betting favorite on Trump prop wager
Trump’s love of golf is well known, as along with owning golf courses around the world he’s also spent a good amount of his time as president hitting the links. That has the Masters – underway in just under a month’s time on Apr. 10 at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia – as the +165 favorite to be the next sporting event Trump attends. Another major golf tournament, the 125th US Open, is farther down the list at +1200. It gets underway Jun. 12 at Oakmont Country Club in Texas.
Trump has shown up at big golf events before, such as the 2017 Presidents Cup tournament at Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey. There, he appeared at the end of the event to award the Presidents Cup trophy to the winning American team. However, going to a major golf event might be a non-starter for Trump after a serious security breach last September, as the Secret Service might hate to bring him into crowded, open-space venues like Augusta National.
Kentucky Derby, Indy 500, World Series at short odds
The 151st Kentucky Derby is set for Saturday, May 3 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, and it sits as the second-favorite at +300 odds to be the next sporting event Trump attends. Trump made an appearance at the Triple Crown race in recent years, hosting a fundraiser there back in 2022.
And later in May another classic American sporting event takes place, the 109th Indianapolis 500 (+900) at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 15. That’s Memorial Day weekend in the U.S., a logical time for a U.S. president to make an appearance. Another race, the 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix, is farther back at +3000 odds as that F1 event won’t take place until late November.
Another event set for October/November of this year, the 2025 World Series, has +600 odds on the board. Trump made an appearance – to a mixed at best response – at Nationals Park for Game 5 of the 2019 Series between the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals. Having the game right in D.C. certainly made it easier for the president to appear, but the Nationals are coming off a 71-91 campaign in 2024 and wouldn’t seem to be in position to get back to the Fall Classic this year.
Tennis tournaments, other major leagues on board
Trump was invited by King Charles for a second U.K. state visit, and the president making his next appearance at a sporting event at the Wimbledon final this year is set back at +1800 odds. The 138th Wimbledon tournament runs from Jun. 30 to Jul. 13 and would have to match up exactly with a Trump London visit for that bet to pay off – although he’d likely shy away from the hostile reception he’d probably get from the British crowd. The 75th US Open (+1600) – underway in late August– might make more sense as a tennis pick, but then again he’s been booed at that tournament.
And while Trump did just attend the Super Bowl, the only football game on the odds list is the NFL Season Kickoff Game (+1400), set to be played in Philadelphia on Sept. 4 (with the NFL Draft at +900 odds). Trump attended several college football games in recent years, but none are on the board. The NBA Finals, though, is there at +1000 odds, with the Stanley Cup Final set at +800 odds.
Indy 500 looks like top wager but watch the Caps
A massive spectacle like the Indianapolis 500 in a red state like Indiana might be too much for Trump to pass up, and makes the most sense as a +900 wager in this spot. However, keep an eye on the National Hockey League, and especially the Washington Capitals. The Capitals own the NHL Eastern Conference's best record this season, which could put them on a path to make the Stanley Cup Final in June. If Trump skips Indy, and the Caps are still alive in the playoffs, that +800 on the Cup Final is then in play.
