Liverpool have won eight consecutive Premier League games and on Wednesday, they will have the chance to reduce City's lead atop the table to just a single point.

Standing in Liverpool's way of doing just that is an Arsenal side they'll face for the third time in 2022 after the two clashed in the EFL Cup semifinal over two legs in January.

Here are our free Premier League betting picks and predictions for Arsenal vs. Liverpool, with kickoff set for March 16.

Arsenal vs Liverpool predictions

Our side and total predictions are based upon our analysis of the line and total in this game. Our best bet is our favorite pick across all markets.

Side analysis

Liverpool have been nearly perfect since the calendar turned to 2022, clawing all the way back into title contention as a result. Since drawing 2-2 away to Chelsea on January 2, they've won eight of eight by an aggregate score of 21-2, as an elite attack is now complemented with the type of defensive stability and class that marked their title campaign.

The squad depth they boast stands out as a difference to even that fantastic title-winning team. There are starting-quality reserves at every position and what was once seen as a potential weakness, the depth of their attack, is now ridiculously strong. January signing Luis Diaz has fit in flawlessly and looks primed to wreak havoc in Liverpool's front three for many years to come, just as Diogo Jota did a year prior.

All that is to say is that ultimately, it's a team without weaknesses at the moment. Liverpool are world-class — the best attacking team in the Premier League and perhaps the world, with defensive metrics on par with any other powerhouse. Their phenomenal form is evidenced by this matchup. Arsenal have stabilized considerably, are the favorites to finish fourth, and have won five in a row — and are towered over by Liverpool.

In attack, Liverpool boast per-game marks of 2.6 goals, 2.54 expected goals, and 29.21 shot-creating actions, compared to Arsenal's averages of 1.6 goals, 1.58 xG, and 24.54 shot-creating actions. There's a similar gulf defensively, with Liverpool conceding an average of 0.7 goals from 0.96 xGA per game while Arsenal are allowing 1.1 goals from 1.26 xGA per 90.

Arsenal are a strong Premier League team rightfully expected to take the Top 4 fight to the wire. Liverpool are an elite team who may have an argument as the single best on the planet. Comparing the two, that difference is made clear — just as it will be at the Emirates on Wednesday.

Prediction: Liverpool (-120)

Over/Under analysis

This writer cannot, in good conscience, take the Under on a 2.5 goal total with Liverpool involved. They are simply too lethal, too relentless, and too much of a proven quantity.

This is a team that has five excellent attackers to call upon in their front three in any game, a magic midfielder in Thiago capable of breaking even the tightest of defensive lines, and two fullbacks in Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold who provide service on par with any wide player in the Premier League (and in Alexander-Arnold's case, the world).

Exactly half of Liverpool's Premier League games this season have seen them score three or more goals, while they scored twice in another eight. Their last league game against Arsenal ended 4-0, while just two months ago they won 2-0 at the Emirates. They are a machine and not one you should back to be limited to just a pair of goals in any game.

Prediction: Over 2.5 (-145)

Best bet

Such a rarity it is to get Liverpool on the moneyline at anything worth taking that it has to be our best bet here.

Liverpool are on pace to smash some previous league records, are looking eye-to-eye with some of the best teams in EPL history, and have overcome difficult circumstances to hang in the fight with another all-time team in Manchester City. They have eight league wins in a row and have won in 14 of their previous 17 games.

Neither City nor Liverpool can afford many more uncharacteristic slip-ups in the home stretch of this epic title race and there won't be any blips for the Reds in London on Wednesday.

Pick: Liverpool (-120)
