The Real Madrid v Barcelona El Clasico in the Spanish Supercopa final will set pulses racing in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), the city chosen to host this year's event.

It rarely gets bigger than this in football in terms of rivalry, quality, and delight, so the expectations are huge.

I think the level of entertainment in this game will reach the highest level, so I'll opt for goals for my coupon.

Here are my Real Madrid vs. Barcelona predictions and soccer picks for Sunday, January 12.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid picks and predictions

My best bet:
Over 3.5 goals (+114 at TonyBet)

My analysis

Barcelona wasted a solid early advantage at the top of the Spanish LaLiga table and slipped to third in the league following recent results. Hansi Flick's men sit behind Real Madrid and Atletico.

But there are glimpses Barcelona's form is returning to their strengths. They played a good game in front of Bilbao in the Supercopa's semi-finals on Wednesday in Jeddah after a comfy 4-0 Spanish Cup Round of 32 beating of amateur side Barbastro.

Barca's game is back, and that's translated into continuous attacks and inspiration in front of goal. Star striker Robert Lewandowski was subbed off vs. Bilbao.

There were fears Lewandowski might not be able to start against Real Madrid, but both the player and the club confirmed it was only a minor problem and that he's ready for selection.

Lewy's presence usually maximizes Barcelona's goalscoring potential and Real Madrid's defence will certainly be harassed constantly by the Polish superstar.

There have been 15 Barcelona games this season with over 3.5 goals. Barcelona loves goals, and Flick will keep his principles in place even when they face arch-rivals Real Madrid on Sunday.

Real is unbeaten in eight matches (W7 D1). Their recent run saw Kylian Mbappe return to form, and a mountain of pressure eased on Carlo Ancelotti. Real are currently topping LaLiga on 43 points, five clear of Barcelona in third place.

The Madrid outfit reached the Supercopa Final thanks to a convincing 3-0 win over Mallorca, but the clash with Barcelona is the supreme test they want to pass in their Saudi Arabian trip this week.

There have been over 2.5 goals in Real Madrid's last nine games, with four of them going over 3.5.

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid will be after their first domestic trophy when they meet on Sunday, that's for sure, but neither will neglect the entertainment side. I feel the Over 3.5 goals is a valid option at +114 via TonyBet

For the more adventurous, the Over 4.5 is at +265, while the Over 5.5 sits at an excellent +560.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid same-game parlay (SGP)

Over 3.5 goals

Robert Lewandowski anytime goalscorer

Kylian Mbappe anytime goalscorer

Lewandowski is 36, but that's only an insignificant detail when you look at his stats. He scored 25 goals so far this season. Lewandowski will look to shine once more and lead his team.

I'm looking for a nice return on my parlay, so I can't miss the chance to include the Polish goalscoring machine in my selection. And I'll do the same with Mbappe.

After a tough start at Real, his chemistry with the others seems to have taken the right course. Mbappe is desperate to shine in the Clasico.
