My analysis
Since the end of November, Brighton seems to have switched off. Throughout the first part of the campaign, anyone advocating for them to finish inside the Champions League positions come the end of the season would've had strong arguments to serve.
But Fabian Hurzeler's boys just stopped performing at the high level they showed beforehand. Their last Premier League win came on November 23 in their away match against Bournemouth, and it followed another big triumph, the 2-1 beating of Manchester City.
After Bournemouth, Brighton lost twice and drew five times, sliding to tenth in the league rankings.
On the other hand, Arsenal look refreshed and ready to give Liverpool a fair fight in the title race. They are now six points behind in the standings, having also played a game more than Liverpool.
But we're just halfway into the domestic season, so all the cards are still on the table. Arsenal have won their last four official games. In three of them, there have been at least four goals.
Judging by their form and their mentality, they won't settle for minimal margins against Brighton either. If they feel there's space to push, they'll do it. And considering the moment Brighton are going through, there should be action in front of their gates.
An important fact to consider is that Brighton could miss as many as seven players for this clash, a detail that could help Arsenal even more in their attempt to unlock their goal-scoring potential.
